The Cable Co Video Report A management letter may be defined as an analysis of different findings which is prepared by certified public accountants. It is usually prepared as part as of the report of an auditor to the board of directors of a given company. The report of an auditor is a thorough review of a third party of the financial position and bookkeeping practices of a company along preparations of different financial statements (Elliott 12). The financial statements include the statement of cash flow, income statement and a balance sheet.

Other forms of reports having different contexts may include summary address to its readers which is called a management latter. The most common use of a management letter is as a formal report of the auditors. It is written along with the other reports of the auditors. Segregation of duties is a policy control system in which no person is given responsibility in more than one given related function. For instance, an employee who is responsible for making purchases in a given organization should not be the same employee to make the payments for those purchases (Elliott 22).

It is also a procedure or method which is established by an organization as a check on internal activities. This is done through the separation of accounting personnel from having custody on assets, custody of associated assets from the authorization of transactions and record keeping responsibilities from the operational responsibilities. The purpose of the segregation of duties is to help in preventing fraud in different ways such as misappropriation of assets and any internal financial misstatement in an organization.

Payroll outsourcing is a practice by business which entails contracting with a given business service for it to handle the different functions that are related to the payroll of a company. By using a service to outsource, it makes it possible to manage the process of payroll without having a need of maintaining a department involved in payroll. The service providers of payroll services manage a diverse function of calculations relating to salaries and wages, the distribution of funds that have been held to the different agencies of the government, withholding taxes and making deposit of the net pay to the different bank accounts (Elliott 28).

Outsourcing in general is the act of a company making a contract with a separate company for it to provide services which may otherwise be done by an in-house employee. Mostly, the different tasks which are outsourced may be performed by the employees of that company itself. In many cases, it usually has financial advantages which come from it. In most companies, jobs such as call centers, payroll and email services are usually outsourced. These jobs are usually handled by different companies which specialize in every service and they are mostly located overseas.

Substantive testing is a procedure which is used during the accounting audits in checking for the errors present in the financial statements such as the balance sheets. This test may involve checking of random models of transactions for any errors. The test also involves comparing different account balances to look for discrepancies or the review and analysis of procedures that are used in the execution and recording of transactions (Elliott 30). This is mostly used by auditors while performing audits for different accounts in different firms.

On the other hand, analytical analysis is the act of performing an analysis in order to develop new information. This is done in an organization in order to come up with different information in different areas such as marketing or the sales department. This analysis involves using existing information to come up with better information to improve an organization. SAS 70 Report is an auditing standard which is internationally recognized which was developed by an institute in America of certified public accountants.

SAS 70 Report is used in reporting the processing of different transactions by the service organizations. It also provides a guidance that is authorized which enables the service organizations in disclosing control activities as well as procedure to customers and auditors in a format that is uniform. Service organizations are those that provide services for outsourcing which impact environmental control of clients. An example of such an organization is the insurance companies.
