Ethical situation is a situation whereby one has to portray ethical morale required at the given time or in any case in order to solve any issue appropriately. It is what is required in any organization or case for workers to follow for effective working conditions. In our case study, we see Alice is ethical since she accepts to be interviewed just as the company accepted of her. She followed the ethics of workplace to answer to any call that a company or organization asks for. Being able to accept the call to get interviewed portrayed that Alice had the sense of ethics. Again, it is ethical for any employees to be motivate for the goal to be met at any workplace. In the case, we see that Alice was motivated to keep the company running in order to get it to a competitive environment by convincing the clients until she won the contract. That drive that she had is ethical as it is for the benefit of the company and that any company is looking for. Being able to convince the clients to the box is ethical of Alice according to the case It is also ethical for employees of any organization to accept their personal data to be reviewed rather that refusing or blaming of privacy obstruction. Alice accepted her file to be reviewed regardless of the way it was with all the inconveniencing stuff in it. She did not worry about that either, hence showed she was ready to improve. That was ethical of her It was ethical of Alice to apply for managerial training besides the company letting her down. This is ethical since she shows that she’s willing to improve for her benefit and that of the company this way both parties would improve aiming towards one goal. Question 2 Identify two clauses in the BCS Code of Conduct that you consider areparticularly relevant to this case study. Justify your selection. Verizon code The Verizon code of ethics is clear in the study. We see in Alice case she portrays the value of integrity. She is correct in what she does besides the company having a reputation that she is unskilled and cannot be given a promotion by the company. The integrity code that she portrays is the one that enabled the company to win the contract. Again she has respect for people and the organization itself. The fact that she talked well with the clients and still decided to be interviewed besides being called unskilled showed the value of respect with was a good conduct in the business environment. Alice portrayed the Verizon code of ethics her performance. The fact that Alice was able to convince the clients with a passion showed that she had the goodwill for the company. She was willing to see the company enter a competitive environment. The Verizon code of conduct is portrayed in the case in the excellence of Alice. She gad the drive to work extra by trying to know some programming languages which in return helped her perform well in the interview that code of wanting to know more is very essential in the business environment and is useful in goal achievement. Colgate-Palmolive The Colgate code is portray in the case as well. We see Alice has a good relationship with people. The fact she went ahead and be friended herself with an employee of a neighboring company portrays she has a will to know things more. It’s by that friend that she had the few concepts to convince the clients. Question 3 Identify the possible legal issues around data protection that areraised by this case study. Solution Itis a legal right that data especially personal data should be fair and that it should not lie about a person. Any business on the other hand should keep its workers personal data true so as not to inconvenience a person. It is also legal to keep one’s personal data a secret. It should not be shared among organizations or among people otherwise it’s a portfolio. It is legal for that data to be processed in line with rights of that individual so as not to inconvenience anything. Thais way there won’t be any quarrels in return. It is also legal for business to keep its workers data adequate, relevant and naryaccessible. It should be of direct that even the worker knows of so as not to be ambiguous in anyway. PART B Question 4 Some of the “stakeholders” involved in this incident are the Dean, the Technician, the VC, and the Reporter). Answer Dean: The dean is responsibility in the university is that he is the one who runs the center of study of values of public life and has been successful in his life of work besides being an ordained minister and a father of two daughter. Nevertheless the dean has no good ethics of the school by going against the school’s policy of work. He goes ahead and upload images on the school computer in which its not accepted since is only school things that should be uploaded. This shows that he was not responsible in running school policies as required. I would rate him unethical or least ethical Technician: the responsibility of the technician is to allow that all computers run well and make corrections and even upgrade the disks. In this case, the technician is very ethical since he follows the school policy to the letter. He east well ensures that however is not following the instructions is taken ahead. His responsibilities was well fulfilled and I would rate him the most ethical. Vice Chancellor: The vice chancellor is understanding and considers mutual parties. He decides to listen to both parties before issuing the judgment. He decides to let the dean remain in department besides his resignation. The VC is therefore understanding and therefore ethical. I would rate him ethical. Reporter: The reporter responsibility is to publish any news that he gets across. He is ethical because it’s his/her role to get to any news that comes up and publishes it regardless of the situation maybe whether it’s exclusive. I would rate the reporter ethical since he was in in with his business. Question 5 Part A A) The Dean had owned the pc, and had hired the technician? The technician could not have taken the issue to the VC because the computer was his property so there could be reason to say anything. B) The technician discovered the dean had been keeping a large archiveof non-offensive images (e.g., family photos, bird photos)? If the images were not offensive the technician could not have that good reason to make the issues so big but could only solve the issue with the dean and everything could continue running out well. C) The technician had discovered potentially embarrassing medicalinformation (e.g. HIV+)? The level of classiness with the dean could have reduced because the technician could have known the vital medical condition of the dean and in this case affect the relationship.
