Environmental Essay Use of Eco-Friendly Cars Human actions have resulted in beneficial and harmful circumstances around the world. It is important to note that most of the harmful activities have been caused by actions that can be easily by man. In view of this, man holds the blame for allowing himself to experiment on things that are harmful to his life. Some behaviors by man have resulted in the proper management of the resources available on earth. In his article The Year Without Toilet Paper, Green (2007) observes that the world would be a better place if people were to adopt the right behaviors. Global pollution is a man-made catastrophe that affects the environment, living creatures, human health and land. Issues such as using toilet paper, wrapping bags and non-carbon transportation are small behaviors that people can adopt to assist in preventing environmental pollution. Human activities such as the use of carbon-fuelled cars results in the release of hazardous gas into the environment. This causes global warming that result in conditions such as hotter days, unpredictable weather patterns, heavy flooding, storms and severe droughts. It is important to note that the earth’s atmosphere has already warmed by about 1.5 degrees. Carbon is continuously accumulating in the atmosphere at a high rate because of tropical deforestation and related land-use changes and fossil fuel burning. In the film No Impact Man, Colin Beavan highlights about living sustainable, green and environmental life to help in reducing pollution in the globe. My opinion is that it is hard to totally refrain from non-car fuelled cars. The essay will look into the use of ‘green vehicles’ as a way to reduce the carbon emissions into the environment. Adopting a sustainable, environmental and green life is not easy but it is a behavior whose adoption can help in ensuring the planet is free from pollution. Cars and machines, contributed by increased industrialization, have led to accumulation of carbon gases in the environment. The other immediate benefits of innovation include; reduced cost of labor, reduction in environmental pollution, creation of new markets, reduced energy use and conformance with standards and regulation. This directly affects transport industry that mainly uses gasoline, although the benefits are more. The transportation costs arising from oil consumption can be reduced by using new alternative energy vehicles such as bio-diesel and electric vehicle. The most appropriate strategy in the country is to use energy efficiency cars like eco-friendly vehicles. It is not possible to do away with cars or machines since they are crucial in the daily engagements of a human being. Nonetheless, appropriate initiatives need to be put in place to help in minimizing the accumulation of carbon gases in the atmosphere. The essay will highlight the significance of using eco-friendly cars to help in preventing the effects of carbon gases. Eco-friendly initiatives are socially responsible created to minimize the negative effects on the environment and improved conditions. Mr. Kirk argued that this is “focused on a brand of environmentalism that kept people in the picture” (Green, 2007). The use of eco-friendly cars aids in keeping the environment clean and healthy due to the significant reduction of harmful emissions. Countries need to take it upon themselves the importance of addressing the energy availability for future generations. The other immediate benefits of innovation include; reduced cost of labor, reduction in environmental pollution, creation of new markets, reduced energy use and conformance with standards and regulation. It is prudent to decrease the total percentage of liquid fuel oil consumption. This directly affects transport industry that mainly uses gasoline, although the accruing benefits are more. The transportation costs arising from oil consumption can be reduced by using new alternative energy vehicles such as bio-diesel and electric vehicle. The most appropriate strategy in the country is to use energy efficiency cars like eco-friendly vehicles. Eco-friendly vehicles use less energy, thus reduce the consumption of carbon products. Ideally, such cars are driven on alternative sources of energy such as electricity and hydrogen-based energy. Carbon gases coming from gas-driven vehicles are harmful to the population and natural resources. The use electricity and hydrogen-based fuel leads to a low-cost mode of transport and reduced carbon emission. As a result, this reduces the environmental pollution that has been a global objective. Globally, environmental pollution is recognized as a fabricated disaster that can be easily mitigated when elaborate measures are put in place. The growth of the economy has led to increased use of vehicles, which results in increased carbon emissions. The co-efficient energy alternatives have minimal negative effects to the environment. Moreover, these sources of energy have minimal effects on the environment (Martino, David, Justin, & Malcolm, 2013). Additionally, the eco-friendly vehicles are enhanced and designed with the aim to reduce carbon emission. Alternative fuelled cars have proven to generate low levels of harmful emissions, which keep the environment healthy and clean. Huge amounts of carbon dioxide produced from burning of fossil fuels for the purposes such as power generation, emission from industries, burning coal and running. Most of gasoline-driven machines results in the emission of large amounts of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. The propane-fuelled cars, for instance, has a new technology that allows the car engines to burn propane with production of less harmful gases (Asafu-Adjaye, 2000). Studies indicate that propane-powered cars release about one-third less harmful gases compared to the gasoline-powered cars. This minimizes the build-up of carbon gases in the environment that alters the weather patterns. In the film No Impact Man, Colin Beavan decides to engage in a number of behaviors that will reduce his personal environmental impact. Some of the behaviors include “eating vegetarian, buying only local food, and turning off the refrigerator… It also means no elevators, no television, no cars, buses, or airplanes, no toxic cleaning products, no electricity, no material consumption, and no garbage” (Gabbert & Schein, 2009). Such behaviors will help in reducing his environmental impact on pollution. The use of eco-friendly cars is welcome behavior that will help in reducing personal environmental impacts while at the same time ensuring the daily engagements are not negatively affected. Promotion of proper measures and options within the environmental sector can provide significant benefits to both the environment and the social concerns of the communities. There is a need for adoption of standard universal laws on global environmental management practice to prevent effects of harmful gas emissions (Martino, David, Justin, & Malcolm, 2013). There is a need to develop more guidelines and methods that will provide greater clarity on the approach. These approaches should be of higher quality and consistent in order to provide greater assurance on their usage. In developing a more sustainable resource use, people must use their energy resources sustainably (GREEN, 2007). Such behavior is likely to experience difficulties from the manufacturing industries that make cars. The production of eco-friendly cars requires the companies to buy new production systems. These companies are likely to oppose such a move since they will suffer a loss. Further, the people will be forced to buy new cars since the majority uses the old models that are not eco-friendly. Eco-friendly vehicles use less fuel to drive them for long distances compared to the normal petroleum-driven cars. This reduces the dependency on the petroleum products to energize the cars, thus minimizes the consumption of oil. Studies reveal that most of the petroleum products in the world are used in vehicles (Caulfield, Farrell b, & McMahonb, 2010). The oil marketing companies are likely to oppose the move since they will be rendered out of business. The implementation of the initiative is to experience challenges due to lack of cooperation among some organizations and individuals. Therefore, to increase the level of certainty in the environmental management process, there is a need of total commitment across the government and environmental agencies. Additionally, there is need to have proper legislation that provides guidelines on environmental management. To get any scheme to become an outfitted development, you need to identify the requirements for the obligatory legislative procedures. To address the effects of climate change, developed countries should reduce their greenhouse gases past the targets stipulated in the initiative. By adopting the right behaviors, human beings can help in taking care of the planet and ensure that it is free from pollution. References Asafu-Adjaye, J. (2000).
