Download file to see previous pages The effects of melting snow caps and the resulting rise of sea levels have been well documented. Other effects are known but not as universally. A reduction of snow cover in addition to lake and sea ice will have dire consequences for locations at higher latitudes and lower elevations, especially in the winter and spring months. At increased temperatures, the atmospheric water vapor and resulting precipitation will be proportionately higher (Wunderlich & Kohler, 2001). Cloud compositions will change which will amplify the greenhouse effect. The increased levels of precipitation because of the warming at the polar regions will increase the effect. Shifting vegetation patterns, types and regional variations will cause major human adaptations, the degree to which is open to speculation. The elevated evaporation rate will hasten the drying effect of soil subsequent to rainfall which will result in drier conditions in many regions. Places that presently suffer through periodic drought conditions in the warmer months will be hardest hit. The more rapid water recycling rate will result in heavier rainfall amounts and the number of extreme rainfall events. Higher rainfall rates will cause increased tropical storm intensity in addition to the warmer temperatures. Hurricanes may be even more frequent and intense than presently predicted. As horrific as this near-future scenario is, it remains the land masses that will suffer the greatest changes as a result of the greenhouse effect. “Temperatures are expected to increase more rapidly over land compared to oceans because of the ocean’s higher heat capacity and because it can transfer more of the trapped heat to the atmosphere by evaporation. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

...?Global Warming: Causes, Effects, and the Future (A Research Paper) Issue ment: The phrase ‘global warming’ has become very much familiarized bymany people in the modern world. The global warming is now being considered to be the only cause and challenge for the environmental protection. Many environmental activists have provided how the global warming is going to affect the environment, as they have all come to the same conclusion about the fact that the global warming is really going to affect the earthly environment, where the extent of its harmfulness...

Global Warming and it's effects and solutions

...?Global Warming: Some Solutions The vast majority of scientists agree that global warming is a serious problem, one that needs to be addressed as quickly as possible. Global warming is a complicated problem that requires many different types of solutions. There are several problems surrounding the issue of global warming. The main cause of global warming is the production of greenhouse gases created by burning fuel like oil and coal to power vehicles and produce electricity. There are several possible solutions to this problem, including finding other sources of power to...

...to the abnormal emission of green house gases which are resulting in global warming, finally leading to abrupt fluctuations in the climatic condition. The human civilization on its way to development has been transformed from an agricultural economy to an industrial economy (Read 33). No doubt that this transformation has increased the per capita income as well as livelihood of the human beings, however it is also associated with a cost namely ‘green house gas initiated global warming’. The paper attempts to explore the causes, impact and probable solutions of global warming. What are the green house gases? Earth’s atmosphere comprises...

The causes and effects of Global warming

...?Introduction The world we are currently living in is full of challenges, ranging from health, social, political and environmental among others, which are making the lives of the current generation more and more difficult as the days go by. This paper will discuss one of the greatest environmental problems, global warming, which has compelled governments, individuals and organizations from all walks of life to come together in order to find a lasting solution in an effort to save the world from its adverse effects. Global warming can be defined as the continued rise in temperatures with regard to the earth’s atmosphere (Silver 15). It has been noted that the earth’s surface temperatures have been increasing at an alarming rate... and this is...

Global Warming Effects on Population

... Global warming has been one of the most important topics of discussion in scientific and policy circles for decades now. Despite relative scientific consensus on the fact that global warming is happening, there are still many logjams towards actually getting anything done on the topic. One of the major consequences of such inaction is that the effects of climate change are poorly understood: we understand that there likely will be long term effects, but are unable to describe exactly what form those effects might take. One of the biggest misconceptions about climate change is its causes and possible solutions. In the...

Global Warming effects human health

...?Global Warming Effects Human Health Introduction Studies have revealed that global warming is a big challenge for humankind and it will have an impact on human health throughout the world. Commencing from reduced air quality and dreadful conditions of food and water to growing amounts of allergens and disastrous weather events, are the various deteriorating health threats one is going to experience during his lifespans. This situation can be avoided by taking vital action by nations to address global warming through compulsory legislation that decreases global warming effluence on the...

Causes and Effects of Global Warming

...Causes and Effects of Global Warming The effects climate change commonly referred to global warming are usually far reaching and the effects have since led to enormous social and ecological changes. The global warming have been initiated directly or and indirectly by human activities that usually lead to greenhouse gases emission into the environment. Some Scientists believe that climatic changes are driven by human activities (Haldar, 2011). Numerous evidences t climate change have been cited including rising in sea levels, increasing of snow cover especially in the Northern Hemisphere,...

The Effects of Global Warming

...The Effects of Global Warming The issue of global warming poses damaging effects that could threaten not only the sustainability of the environment but also all aspects of human life. One of the most common effects of global warming can be observed in the rapid changes of the environment. For instance, the intense heat of the Earth’s atmosphere has resulted to the rise of sea levels, changes in rainfall patterns and frequency of severe weather conditions. Droughts, floods, air and water pollution, as well as the occurrence of natural disasters (e.g. typhoons, hurricanes, tsunamis), have...
