Topic Is anthropogenic climate change (what used to be known as "global warming a problem that needs immediate and/or long term attention Introduction Anthropogenic climate change or global warming happens due to the greenhouse gas emitted from earth due to the activity of the human beings. Scientist by observing the polar ice melt has reached to a conclusion that green house gas emitted by earth is increasing from past few hundred years. Many studies reveal that the potent green house gas has increased after the post industrial period. The potent green house gas consisted of carbon did – oxide, nitrous oxide and methane. The significant increase in greenhouse is studies and results shows that this phenomenon is solely occurring due to the adulterated activity of human beings. If we do not act at the right time, the anthropogenic climate could lead to the devastation of earth and our very own existence(Thesis) According to (TOC,2007) “Almost 100% of the observed temperature increase over the last 50 years has been due to the increase in the atmosphere of greenhouse gas concentrations like water vapor, carbon dioxide (CO2), methane and ozone”. The greenhouse gas enact for the greenhouse effect and heat up the earth on a gradual process. The burning of fossils is the largest contributing factor of green house effect as it releases large quantity of carbon – di -oxide into the atmosphere. The major concern of greenhouse effect is that it gives way to the heating of the earth and increase the temperature around the globe. What is anthropogenic climate change or (Global warming) The anthropogenic climate change can be explained as the gradual increase in the climatic temperature of earth due to the greenhouse gas emitting. Green house gas emitting leads to the increase in the heat of the planet and leads to the melting of ice in the polar region which can increase the overall seal level on the earth. Even though not very obvious, green house effect is affecting many parts of the earth. The green house gas mostly contains, carbon – di- oxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide and methane which traps the heat and sunlight and elevates the temperature of the planet. Global warming risks the existence of plants, animals and human beings. This entrapping of heat and sunlight in the atmosphere is called the anthropogenic climate change and can evolve the current status of the planet. In this process, the heat get entrapped in the atmosphere but cannot get out of the atmosphere. Because of this process the temperature of atmosphere rises and climatic condition of earth changes with seal level. If the temperature of the planet goes on increasing the productivity pattern of the earth can changes at a rapid level. This can give a negative progression with related to all life on the planet. At present it can be noticed that northern hemisphere of the planet experience harsh summer than past. On the other hand, the southern hemisphere is getting hotter and hotter never like before. Anthropogenic climate change could destroy earth It is believed that anthropogenic climate change over the few years has the potentiality to destroy the earth completely. It is said that global warming has the ability to destroy millions of life and cause natural disaster to earth in less than few years. This catastrophic information was reported by pentagon to bush administration as a warning to sustain earth. According to (Townsend,2004)“A secret report, suppressed by US defense chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a Siberian climate by 2020”.They also warn that nuclear conflict, famine, draught and natural disaster overall the planet will wipe out the entire life in any form from earth. It is warned that the abrupt climate change on earth could bring the earth on the verge of anarchy where the planet would develop a nuclear war threat to acquire natural resources. The dwindling scarcity in food ,water and energy supplies can lead the earth to a war zone, from where there is no looking back. The life on earth is predicted to confront a warm future and this will induce the perishing of heat sensitive living organisms. Scientists are also warning about earthquakes, volcanoes and avalanches due to the climate change happening on earth. Scientists are warning that the occurrence of global warming can affect the planet in a strange and unexpected manner. The risking emission of carbon di- – oxide, from factories, vehicles and power stations are the main reason for the climate change occurrence. If we do not take action on the right time, anthropogenic climate change could dwindle the existence of life on the planet earth. Anthropogenic climate change is weak to destroy earth Anthropogenic climate change is a fact, but its power to destroy earth and its living beings is still a strongly unanswered question. Many scientists have claimed positively and negatively about the effect of global warming on the planet. The positive claim is that, global warming and the presence of carbon – di- –oxide in atmosphere is an evergreen phenomenon and has not relation to the elevation of heat in the atmosphere. They also claim that the carbon – di- – oxide sent by factories, vehicles and powerhouse will not affect the sea and atmosphere of the planet. They demand that, only the geology of the earth might change due to carbon – di- – oxide emission. It is believed that the carbon – di- – oxide’s presence has always been there in atmosphere and it won’t bring any catastrophe to earth. Some experts believe that, anthropogenic climate change is ever occurring phenomenon and as an n intelligent species man will have the capability to adapt to the situation. In his article (Brennan,2011) mentions that “It’s not the end of the world,” Patzert said. “It’s a warmer world, and it’s a melting world. We’re adapting to it already. And we’ll adapt to it no matter what”. It is the de – forestation during the industrial revolution which has led to the existence of carbon – di – oxide in the atmosphere. One need not be dramatic about this affair, because if more plants are planted the earth could be saved from the horrendous trapping of carbon – di- – oxide in the atmosphere. Of course the sea level has raised a bit, this could be corrected with the plantation of trees .So anthropogenic climate change is not something can destroy earth. Anthropogenic climate needs immediate attention The anthropogenic climate change is an inevitable phenomenon and it needs attention from us more than any other matter. This global warming process has put risk not only on us ,but on the whole chain of ecosystem. Advance in technology and science has changed the way we live, and the reflection of this can be seen in the climatic condition of the earth. The global warming which give way to rise in the atmospheric condition of earth is a by –product of our way of living. This green house gas emission has led to the development of hole in the ozone layer. Still people do not understand the level of damage it could have on the whole planet. From a two wheeler vehicle to machines in the factories emit gases which trigger global warming. And the polar ice is also melting along with the rise in the temperature of the atmosphere. So it is a call to scientist, government and general people to take immediate action to bring back the natural state of planet earth. . In his journal (Preston,1989)writes that “The warming of the earths atmosphere, due to accumulation principally of carbon dioxide and methane, promises to be the major issue of the next century”. The major threats like the melting of polar ice caps, rising of sea level and release of trapped gases can unleash an irreversible catastrophe to the planet earth. There will be chaotic change of weather which can trigger floods, droughts and famine in many parts of the world. So with these listed devastation, the government and general public need to take immediate action on anthropogenic climate change. Anthropogenic climate change is a gradual process Anthropogenic climate change indeed is a think to be seriously thought about, but its effect is gradual on the earth. We are not going to see a bombard of earth in couple of years. We realized about greenhouse gas emission, and global warming in recent years and we have yet time to repair the effect of global warming. It is hasty to tell this, but it s true that yet we have not studied deeply about the green house effect and its pressure on this planet. Scientist believes that some islands on the earth’s surface are going to disappear, but this fact is not fully acknowledged. It is not needed for people to rush about repairing the damaging affect of anthropogenic climate change as we cannot do much in short time span. As per (Middleton,2005)“We can still reverse our social processes, but we cant avoid all the effects of what we have done so far and are currently doing”. AS the author mentioned, we can still reverse the damage done to earth and we should not be seeking out a plan out rightly to stop anthropogenic climate change. The scientist and common men equally need to understand the nature of greenhouse effect and implement strategies to avoid the causes of green house gas emission. The damage we have done to the earth has not happened in short course of time .Hence we need to take action thinking long term wise. So in conclusion, a damage done in a long term procedure cannot be repaired in a short course of time. Conclusion With all the detailing we find in the writing, it is presumable that we need to take an action on long term basis negate the hazardous effect of anthropogenic climate change on earth The anthropogenic climate not only increase warmth of the planet but also bring in decrease of crop yields which can lead to food supply .With regard to anthropogenic climate change the land will less available for crops and people will need to fight for mere food resources. Seeing all these aspect in future, the government must take immediate action to reduce the harsh effect of climate change on planet. Government should formulate strategies and plan to create awareness and alertness among industrialist and common men. The public should be aware of the aftermath of green house emission and how our ozone layer is getting detoriated. It is obvious for people, the heat that is increasing with the every pass of a year. But only if the government takes this matter serious, can the planet can revive from this horrendous situation. As per(Riebeek,2010)Models predict that as the world consumes ever more fossil fuel, greenhouse gas concentrations will continue to rise and Earth’s average surface temperature will rise along with it. Earth is sustaining on a delicate balance of living organisms and every being is connected to one another for survival basis.
