How Does Amount of CO2 Vary In the Places with a High Amount of Cars Comparing To the Fields Background The level of carbon dioxide in places with high amounts of cars comparing to the fields aids in understanding the different consumption levels that exist in the two and items found within. A number of reasons explain these and based on biological factors and the CO2 facts, one discovers that it is true this component varies from one place to another based on the items and their consumption levels. Considering the use that both these items put CO2 to, one understands the level of saturation and effect that they each have. The study aims at detailing the different consumption aspects that fields deal on the component and the level that cars release to the environment. The components of the fields determine the level of consumption that the field uses of the component while the cars release it. Cars release a substantial amount of the carbon dioxide the world environment suffers from (Mintzer. p.202). The study is developed to detail these studies and aid in understanding their effects on the environment. Design Research Question How does the amount of carbon dioxide vary in the places with a high amount of cars comparing to the fields? This question provides a more general approach to the study. A more direct question would include a coverage that includes the activities in an environment and the effect that they have on the volume of carbon dioxide. The question would consider the effect that the presence of cars in an environment would have creating a difference between the amounts of carbon dioxide in the two places. That is the fields and places with many cars. Based on these, the research question therefore would be: What effects does the level of activity in the environment have on the amount of carbon dioxide in relation to the presence of cars and their absence in a field? Hypothesis Places with cars have high carbon dioxide volumes while fields have low carbon dioxide volumes. Considering the volumes that cars emit in carbon dioxide, one discovers that chances prove high that places with many cars have a high carbon dioxide content compared to fields. The study aims at proving this hypothesis. Variables The variables include two aspects that are the amount of carbon dioxide and the place or environment that is between a place with a high amount of cars and fields, which have a small amount of cars. In the study, the level of carbon dioxide provides the dependent variable whose volume depends on the environment and the activity in it in relation to cars. This means the environment is the independent variable. To understand further the effect that cars have on the level of carbon dioxide, the environments are designed to have one as the control. In this case, the environment with many cars is the actual field under consideration and the field provides the control aspect in which the cars are absent to test the carbon dioxide content. Materials The materials used majorly are the equipment for measuring the carbon dioxide content in the environment. These include outdoor transmitters. Experimental set up The environment is identified and the material set up to take measurements. These will provide the data that will apply in the study. Procedure a) The identification of the environment in which the study will cover. b) The placement of the measurement tools. c) The monitoring of the data collection procedure. d) Recording of the results. e) Data analysis and presentation. Safety The application of aprons in this assignment is a must to ensure safety in the Lab. The labeling of each chemical applied to ensure easy identification and the detailed care in handling each item in the lab will prevent any harm and danger. From the observations, the nature of carbon dioxide in the high streets is higher with an average of 607.5 in overall measurement, followed by the Cobham fields at 591 and Cobham forests at 582.5. Data processing The high streets have a higher rate of carbon dioxide compared to the others as a result of the high emissions from the cars on the streets and the traffic nature. These all emit and that contributes to the level of carbon dioxide. The cobham fields have a relatively higher rate of carbon dioxide as a result of the emissions too from the fields and the plantations in them. These consume the carbon dioxide based on the time of day or night. As well know plants consume carbon dioxide as food for their growth. The rate is relatively higher compared to that in the Cobham forests as a result of the high consumption rate of the trees in the forest. The level of carbon dioxide consumption in the forest is high compared to that in the field and hence the lower rate on average compared to that on the field and in the high street. Overview In general, it is important to note that the cars produce carbon dioxide while the trees and other plantations consume it. The plantations consume carbon dioxide for their own physiological functions. The plantations require less carbon dioxide compared to the forest, which provides an aid to photosynthesis. Calculations Mean Mean for carbon dioxide on high streets = (610+606+605+609)/4= 607.5 Mean for carbon dioxide on cobham fields = (592+590)/2= 591 Mean for carbon dioxide on cobham fields = (580+585)/2= 582.5 Median The median for Cobham high street = (606+605)/2= 605.5 The median for Cobham fields = (592+590) = 591 Median for cobham forests= (580+585) = 582.5 Presentation Presentation of the data relates in bar graph that provides an avenue for analyzing the results. The bar graphs allow for an easy comparison of the data leading for better analysis. Conclusion and evaluation: Conclusion On studying the above details, one understands the difference in the environment and the effect they have on the level of carbon dioxide present. The study reveals that the level of carbon dioxide in an environment that has many cars on the streets is high. The emissions of carbon dioxide by the cars lead to the accumulation and hence influencing the content. The plants consume the carbon dioxide in the environment for photosynthesis. The more plants and the size the more carbon dioxide they consume. Discussion (environmental only) The environment plays a role in determining the level of carbon dioxide in the environment. The higher the emissions, the higher the level of carbon dioxide in the environment based on the components. This explains the level of carbon dioxide in the high streets where the cars are many and they contribute to the emissions (Transport Committee, p.11). The different cars produce different levels of carbon dioxide. The forest environment is filled with many trees of different sizes needing different volumes of carbon dioxide for their photosynthetic functions. These consume more volumes and hence the reduced level of carbon dioxide in the environment where they are present. The field environments have different plantations too of different sizes, these may also need some volumes of carbon dioxide for their photosynthesis and they consume from the environment (Crawford, p.97). The more the plants the higher the level of consumption and hence the lower the carbon dioxide content in the environment with plants. Plants may not consume so much of the carbon dioxide and hence the difference between their consumption and that of forests is minor. The difference between the levels of carbon dioxide in the environments is small because of the level of carbon dioxide emissions. Limitations of experimental design: The environment studies may not easily prove accurate. There is need to improve the amount of involvement in environmental analysis and the equipment used to monitor the emissions and consumptions. The materials provided only measure the amount but not the actual real time emissions and consumption hence not providing results that cover an accurate analysis. The aspect of time and accuracy is a factor to consider. The amount of time that such an experiment needs for successful provision of valid results may require monitoring both day and night to yield a better understanding. The experiment also requires huge resources that prove limiting in many incidences. Suggestions for improvement There is need to develop sophisticated tools for analyzing the emissions in real time and providing statistics on their improvement to aid improve environmental studies.
