Extract of sample "Analysis of Wastwater"

Dear client Re: Analysis of wastewater Thanks for the trust that you have on my competence in resolving your concern. satisfaction is my priority concern and diligent data collection and analysis procedures are used to ensure reliability and validity of derived conclusion and recommendations. Your concern relates to updating your wastewater analysis laboratory in order to determine whether to equip the laboratory with Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) only, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) only, or both of the analysis strategies and the report focuses on results from both techniques to determine possible differences in their results.

This study sought to investigate BOD and COD with the aim of comparing the two analytical approaches for decision on whether to implement BOD, COD, or both of them in your laboratory upgrade process. The following sections discuss the two laboratory procedures and analyze the results.CODThe following table summarizes results from the lab.Table 1: COD resultsKHPABSORPTION5000.2152500.1151250.0162.50.0200RW10.06RW20.06TW11.5TW20The following graph shows analysis results for the samples.Graph 1: Graph of the relationship between COD’s KHP and absorbance rateThe graph explains 95 percent of the KHP data and is therefore a reliable estimator of the relationship.

The reliability can then be inferred on inteprating absorption for treated and raw water. The high absorbance rate for sample 1 of treated water seems to be erroneous and the rate for sample 2 suggest effectiveness of the water treatment process. The procedure reported a high level of turbidity. BODBOD can be computed from the following formula. DOB=(D0-Df)/pTherefore,For raw water, DOB= 1.2/ 0.017= 72For treated water, DOB= 0For Glucose-Glutamic1, DOB= 0.8/0.17= 48For Glucose-Glutamic2, DOB= 0.3/0.17= 18
