Global Warming “is one of the greatest hoaxes ever perpetrated on the American people” (Gray, Washington Post. May 28, 2006). Global warming is a natural phenomenon which is independent of human activity. Continuous climate change is a cyclical, natural phenomenon which predates human existence on earth. This makes the very concept of an individual’s ‘carbon footprint’ a fantasy, as man is not responsible for climate change. Climate variation is normal and global warming and extremes of temperature are not unique to this century. The Medieval Warm Period (800-1300 A.D.) witnessed higher temperatures and the Little Ice Age (1300-1900 A.D.) experienced lower temperatures than this century. In fact, the present rise in temperature is due to the earth emerging from the Little Ice Age. It is not the result of industry-generated carbon-dioxide emissions, but due to unusually intense levels and lengths of solar radiation. The present cooling of the ocean surfaces indicates that the rising temperature has reached a ceiling and the earth will inevitably start cooling within the next decade and move into the next ice age. Computer-generated climate simulations to the contrary are speculative and not scientifically validated. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

...? The Effects of Global Warming and Its Causes Global Warming Introduction The increase in the average earth’s atmosphere andthe oceanic temperatures is referred to as Global warming (Silver, 2008). The temperature changes vary from region to region around the earth. The fluctuations in the global temperatures occur naturally. However, has been it is realized that the average global temperatures are increasing at a higher rate. Simpson (2008) notes that for 10 years since 1990, the hottest years to be recorded occurred. Scientists predicted that the average temperatures to be experienced in the U.S. could...

...? Global warming Global warming is the gradual increase of the earth’s surface and ocean temperatures. For many centuries, the surface temperature of the earth has been rising, altering the physical structure and the weather conditions of the earth. While the effects of global warming are slowly but surely making themselves known, scientists have proven that these effects are quickening the longer we brush off the threat that global warming presents. By continuing to ignore the threats that come with global warming, we are not only putting the world at risk of...

...?Global Warming Introduction: The recent decades have been plagued with rising concerns regarding the drastic change in climates, across the globe. Scientists have continuously attributed such changes to a phenomenon called “global warming”, and have conducted significant research to prove the validity of their arguments. However, recently these arguments put forward in favor of global warming, have been challenged by skeptics, who dismiss the whole phenomenon as a “myth” or a man-made controversy. Thus, while on one hand, there are groups of scientists who claim that global warming is indeed real, and...

Is Global Warming a Hoax

...?Global warming, the theory of climate change has aroused intense controversy regarding the extent to which our activities affect global temperature and weather patterns. Although there a lot of people out there who are trying to keep their carbon emission to the minimum, skeptics believe that human induced global warming is insignificant and the evolution from fire to nuclear energy is a path of improved human health and welfare arising from efficient and effective access to energy. Whatever may be the argument, earth temperature is rising year after year. In this regard, my research aims to ultimately address the issue: is global...

...? Global Warming Global Warming has become an issue of paramount significance these days and the human activties resulting from advancement in technology are contributing to it. However, some scientists argue that limiting human activities will not have any impact on Global Warming and climate change because the real cause are natural phenomena related to the fusion reactions in sun and the movement of Earth. The temperature datas and the change in the life style of humans over the last 50 years suggest that humans activities are responsible for Global Warming but the involvement of natural phenomena is still not well established. Global Warming: The Causes of Global Warming and its relation to Human Activities and Natural... Phenomena The term Global Warming refers to the continuous increase in earth’s average temperature since 1950’s due to human activity and environmental deterioration by various harmful chemicals which are being added to the environment, mainly due to the burning of the fossil fuels. Another term that needs to be defined along with Global Warming is the Green House Effect, which refers to the trapping of heat by the gases such as carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, water vapors and fuel particles etc. Green House Effect was first considered into study by S. Arrhenius during the last decade of the 19th century when the scientists first observed the changing...

...Section/# Global Warming: An Analysis of Two Opposing Views and the Quest for a Practical Middle Ground One of themost heated environmental debates which has existed for the past 15-20 years within the scientific and political community is with relation to the existence of global warming. The topic itself is hotly contested between both left and right of the political spectrum; between progressives and conservatives and between developing and developed nations. Each of these shareholders has something to gain or to lose based upon their own interpretation and as such this topic has been a particularly messy one to understand and to define. Accordingly, this brief essay...

...? Global Warming-Ethics Global Warming-Ethics Introduction Global warming is arguably the most debated environmental issue in the world today. Fern (2003) notes that global warming has been a key concern for everyone including environmentalists, government leaders, corporations, and individuals worldwide. The concern is attributable to its negative impact on the environment. Fern (2003) defines global warming as the increase in the average temperatures of the earth and oceans. According to Goldstein (2009), the world has experienced a significant increase in average temperatures over the past few decades especially in the 21st century. The high increase in temperatures has resulted in global warming, which has negatively affected... the...

...Full Full Submitted Global Warming - The Biggest Hoax Humanity Has Ever Faced? I. Introduction As the Earth’s average temperature rises, the earth will be altered: Polar ice caps and glaciers are expected to melt; ocean will warm resulting to an enlarged ocean volume and a 9 to 100cm rise in sea level that will flood some coastal regions and most likely, submerge entire islands (Tang, par. 1) – This is the horrifying scenario predicted of global warming. And today, global warming has become an issue of utmost importance to humanity, because it means humanity’s survival. However, from these threatening...

...Global Warming: A Hoax or not The articles summarized in the paper highlight the controversy between pro-global warming proponents and its opponents. It discusses how a group of organizations keen on rubbishing existence of global warming have come up with computer models to emphasize their assertion while at the same time, cites various scientific evidence to further the hypothesis behind existence of global warming. Notably cited is the 1979 climate report claiming global temperatures are likely to rise by between 1.5 to 4.5 degrees Celsius unless carbon emissions are...
