Oprah Winfreys Character - Essay Example

“The Oprah Winfrey Show” has reflected all facets of Oprah Winfrey’s personality; she is joyous, and enjoys every moment of life. Oprah Winfrey is emotional, interesting, adventurous, leading, and daring. Oprah Winfrey seems to have mastered all functions of leadership. She has a very high level of emotional intelligence and encourages freedom of expression. She knows how to carry herself with dignity and integrity in tough times. At the start of her career, Oprah Winfrey was also subjected to racism since she is an African American.

People on her show openly passed sarcastic and abominable remarks about her race; “In 1988, Oprah learned one invaluable lesson the hard way when she taped a show with a panel of white supremacists…After promoting violence and making several offensive comments, the white supremacists walked off the stage” (“The Oprah Shows”). Nothing could ever stop this determined woman from conducting the show with flying colors. Oprah Winfrey is motivated by making a positive difference in society from her shows, and she has done that by discussing and finding solutions for people’s personal life problems on several shows.

Human nature is very complex and unpredictable, yet there are certain factors that work for it at all times. These factors include but are not limited to love, passion, compassion, the broadness of vision, integrity, self-respect, and respect for others. One who integrates these factors into one’s personality shows the best colors of human nature to others.
