English Pre-write Brainstorming The topic that I will discuss will be under marketing. This is because of the passion I have inmarketing which is very essential in the business world. Also having worked as a marketer in the bank for the last six years I have learnt some of the challenges that are experienced in the career.
One of the career goals that I have is to be an effective marketer who is able to connect with diverse customers from any background. The other career goal is to be a marketer who understands the needs of the customers and comes up with the solutions. This will form the thesis of the paper to be how I can provide solutions to the people worldwide in my career of marketing.
One of the topics that I will be involved in research about it is microfinance. It involves providing of banking services to the low-income earners. It is evident that microfinance enables the low-income earners to be self-sufficient by providing a means of insurance, saving money and borrowing. My research on the topic will boost my marketing skills in the bank sector and I will be able to add more value.
The other topic that I will be involved in research about is psychology. It entails the scientific study of human mind and its functions. It is apparent that the research on psychology will help to improve my marketing skills and I will be able to handle different people. Also, I will be able to know the reasons behind the people’s preferences in the business world.
For my essay to be factual, I will refer information from the books of Sarkar and Sundaresan about microfinance. I will refer my research on the topic of psychology from McKenna book of business psychology and organizational behavior.

...?Addiction – More Than Just an Attitude In comparing the two essays, “Addiction in Free Markets” by Bruce K. Alexander, and “Embraced by the Needle”,by Dr. Gabor Mate, one finds that, first and foremost, they are similar in that they are both discussing the topic of addiction throughout. Addiction, or the dependence upon something that the body craves, is not taken lightly in either essay, or by either author. Issues of addiction other than drug use are also mentioned in “Addiction in Free Markets”, describing with historical references not only drugs but alcohol and other addictions. Both papers agree that addictions are “rooted in unhappiness”, though Dr. Mate in his essay states this from the onset and Mr. Alexander takes two... – More...

..., he is transformed into a giant beetle. In this form, he realizes all the things that he should have or should not have done; he finally dies (O'Neill 43). Implications for learning Using this research, I have been able to identify how interrelated poetry works are. I have been able to identify the styles employed by writers in passing on their ideas to the audience. For instance, I have realized that animal characters depict human characters rather than the general overview. Finally, I believe that all English literature work has many teachings, which we can relate to as humans (Griswold Pp.455-467). Acknowledgements First, I would take this opportunity to acknowledge my English teacher who made me develop an interest in literature. I...

... Journeys: “The Story of an Hour,” “A Rose for Emily” and “Young Goodman Brown.” Kate Chopin’s “The Story of an Hour,” William Faulkner’s “A Rose for Emily,” and Nathaniel Hawthorne’s “Young Goodman Brown” are three short stories which incorporate the figurative idea of a journey in their narratives. Chopin’s protagonist, Louise Mallard, receives news of her husband’s sudden demise in an accident. She considers the changes which widowhood will bring to her life. At the end of an hour, Mr. Mallard comes home, very much alive – his death was only a false rumor. Faulkner’s heroine, Emily Grierson, is a headstrong young lady of the Old South. She is kept under the control of her authoritarian father. After his death, she is courted... Journeys:...

... Philosophy and beyond Philosophy in Walter Benjamin’s “One-Way Street” EXCERPT “The power of a country road is different when one is walking along it from when one is flying over it by airplane. In the same way, the power of a text is different when it is read from when it is copied out. The airplane passenger sees only how the road pushes through the landscape, how it unfolds according to the same laws as the terrain surrounding it. Only he who walks the road on foot learns of the power it commands, and of how, from the very scenery that for the flier is only unfurled plain, it calls forth distances, belvederes, clearings, prospects at each of its turns like a commander deploying soldiers at a front. Only the copied text thus... Philosophy...

... Elizabeth Bishop’s Ineffable Atmospheres Elizabeth Bishop could easily be accused of using too many ‘painted adjectives’ in her poems, a comment that was once considered a criticism. “As to twentieth-century poetry we will have fewer painted adjectives impeding the shock and stroke of it. At least for myself, I want it so, austere, direct, free from emotional slither” (Pound, 1918). However, Bishop’s poetry, written with a grace and flow that paints an alarmingly clear picture of more than just the obvious words, depends upon the use of adjectives and other literary devices to evoke an ineffable mood or emotion that is difficult to describe in any other way. Trying to reduce her sentiments into the confined language of Imagism...

... Friends Until asked to ify the types of friends I had, I never really gave the much thought. However, research has illustrated that plenty of other people have. Depending on who you talk with, there are three, five, seven and even ten different types of friends. Perhaps the best way to classify friends is just to examine your own life to see how you think of the people you know. By thinking about each individual you usually spend the day with, you can begin to get a pretty good impression of the way you classify the people you know. Examining my own life, it is easiest for me to classify my friends into three basic groups – professional friends, social friends and close friends. Professional friends are those individuals...
