Double-sidedness of Advice on Position of Parents Parents are the pillars of every family. Children should always be submissive to their parents. Parents will always encourage their children to work hard regardless of the situations. The pieces of advice parents utter to their children are of significant in the lives of the younger generation. A child may not be doing well in some tasks but equally performing well in other activities. This statement is true as it can relate to what the teacher of Young-ha Kim says, “Okay, Young-ha, you may be bad at drawing but you are a talented story-teller.

Gifted individuals are struggling to develop their talents in the real world. (.Mihaly & Rathunde. p28). The older people thwart the dreams of children by becoming very rigid in the decisions they impose on them.People can see through this story that advice and suggestion from the perspective of adults can kill diverse dreams before young people try. It does not mean all advice and opinion influence negative effects because they have already experienced about what they said, and it could be a useful guideline to live.

However, these kinds of adults’ thought and behaviors can make children and young people just follow the safe instruction. This statement means that there is no adventure as the owner of the independent life. I think if all people stuck with their dreams, people and society would be getting hard. Korea’s job crisis can be an example. Korea is a unique country that achieved rapid development in a short period from developing to a developed country. Previous generation lived this result fiercely while they have stood against lots of changes like World War and done the hard job like dirty, dangerous, and difficult job called 3D job.

The parents who went through these hard times did not want their children to experience what they had already experienced. They would encourage their children to work hard in studies as scarifying themselves without spending money for them since they believed the way to escape difficult situation is getting white-collar jobs. Such jobs were very lucrative by that time.This thought and efforts of the previous generation altered society’s perception of a job, so the job crisis that cause most young people in Korea try only to get into the white-collar job has happened.

Moreover, many Koreans nowadays want to work at similar field such as management department and enter large corporations. They do such without considering which department is more valuable for them and makes them more attractive, which worsens the job crisis. The children can easily emulate what their seniors do. Children get it rather tougher to deviate from the advice of their parents. Consequently, it shows that the pressure of advice and suggestion may have a negative influence on the lives of the young people.

Ken Robinson in his article, “School Kill Creativity” argues that creativity is critical in education literacy. He stresses that that the systems in schools do not favor the atmosphere of creativity hence would render the academics valueless. Teachers do not pay careful attention raising creativity ability in children.Parents should give their children a liberty of choice to explore their thinking skills. Parents sometimes are so cruel to their children hindering them from generating better ideas.

During school program, children’s’ education concentrates much on academics and ignores the arts and music. If a child likes these two subjects, they get discouraged that art and music will never get them a job in the future.Children should learn from mistakes. Getting the concept wrong does not mean that one is so foolish to get things right next time. Parents are therefore champions in pioneering the children to work hard even if they usually get questions wrong. Robinson puts it perfect that, one can only be right if she/he is prepared to be wrong.

It is precisely right that people who happened to have learned from mistakes are the best icons in their respective working places.In conclusion, Mihaly & Rathunde talk much about the adolescents experience for their quench towards a growth outcome. They suggest that child should have a free atmosphere of choice, and this would enable them to utilize their potentials fully. It is important for the parents to advise their children and to listen to them. This fact would enable them to learn their children and help them develop the right careers.
