Scriptures Reading and Journal The main evident occurrences and principles from the book of Helaman are the rejection and persecution of Lord’s prophets, ignorance by people to God’s word, and repentance (Mueller 68). In our daily lives, it is a common and frequent incidence where many people blatantly shun God’s Word and do not want to either acknowledge or repent their sins. The principles depicted from the book are heavily applicable to our lives. We should respect all the servants of the Lord. People should never reject servants communicating and relaying the words of God. We should listen to them personal differences that may exist. The word of God is the most vital pillar upon which our lives lie. Therefore, it is essential that we inculcate within ourselves the spirit of regard and respect for both God’s Word and His servants. It can never be our duty as human beings to judge God’s servants. We must always refrain from rejecting God’s servants or subjecting them to judgment. Our business should only be to listen to God’s word from His servants, practicing, and implementing what the words command. Sometimes we may not get pleased with the behaviors of some God’s servant. However, we must always remember not to dispel from the word of God. It is necessary that we shun a perception of thinking that some God’s servants are not worth credit. God’s servants are the agents chosen to pass messages from God. We should leave the act and businesses of judgment only to God (Mueller 72). Occasionally, we should repent of our sins. At times may think of ourselves as being perfect, however, this is wrong and should not be the case. There are sins that humans always commit or indulge in unconsciously. Therefore, it is of necessity that we submit ourselves to God by going unto His presence with a heart of reverence and repentance. Nobody is perfectly right. Without God and His mercies upon our lives, we are losing value. From the book of Nephi, it is only through repentance that we can achieve the power and assuredness of God’s love and eternal life (Mueller 75). God’s judgment is real on the last days of our lives. At the end of our earth’s lives, each person will gain either everlasting life or eternal damnation. There is need to seek for happiness in doing and following God’s commandments (Word), and not to indulge in inequities. The wages of iniquity are death. Due to this, we ought to have faith in God and conform to His commands. There are promises of a blessed and fulfilling life to them who believe in Christ and His coming to redeem His servants, and those believe in Him. It is, therefore, necessary that we convert to Christianity and salvation since the Lord will show us mercy in the latter days. Only God has the knowledge of what tomorrow holds for us. We must avoid the wickedness of indulging in deceit and lies. We must make the devil ultimately lose in its constant fight of trying to win peoples’ heart by rejecting its deceitful ways and agents. The Satan is a loser and its ways only aims at making us go astray into the paths of death. As an individual who wants to achieve an eternal life, there is need to convert from sinful ways by receiving Jesus into our lives through salvation. We receive salvation through forsaking sins. Salvation grants our considerations as God’s children. Through salvation, we become worthy to enter God’s Kingdom, Heaven (Mueller78). By receiving salvation and regarding as God’s children, we become engulfed and protected under the Lord’s care. God therefore fights for us making us victorious and enabling them to defeat all their enemies. With the power of God residing in our lives, the Satan lacks chance of trying to manipulate us. God protects us from any destructive ways that might arise from satanic deceptions and indulgence upon our lives. Living under God’s umbrella will always make us defeat all our enemies and the weapons against our prosperity. Adopting God’s guidance and instructions upon every individual’s life provides us with the ability of not rebelling God and His ways. We, therefore, live in the provision and directions of God. When a person puts seeking for God’s will and ways first in his or her life, all the wealth, riches, and prosperity automatically follow. In God, we acquire all the riches and prosperity that we may desire for in life abode (Mueller 79). At all times, Christians should aspire to perfection just like God. Jesus teaches us that the best life to live is through emulating a Christ-like life that Jesus lived while on earth. The only way to live this life recommended by Christ (Jesus) for us is by adopting His teachings into lives and putting them into practice. We can put the teachings of God into practice by being reflective examples of Jesus life and by making the word of God prevail through preaching good news (gospel). However, when preaching good news, we must ensure that we have indeed received a calling from God. Only God who gives us the full and hidden knowledge of what his teachings and scriptural words mean. We must, therefore, avoid preaching or teaching God’s word based on our understandings and translations. God warns us to be wary of fake prophets. Since He also restricts from judging any person, the best way to ensure that we eliminate the arising of false prophets is by avoiding being one. In all that we do, we must seek God’s directions and will through prayers. Prayer is the only tool that we can use to maintain direct communications with God consistently. Most importantly, it is necessary that we gather in unison as family when seeking for God and His mercies through prayers. God is joyful when we are compassionate about each other and live together as one family just as He created us from one flesh. We must, therefore, show cohesiveness and oneness by minding one another in all our actions and thoughts. When we seek God in unity and with a heart of repentance, we get an assurance of the promised inheritance of God’s Kingdom, wealth, and eternal life (Mueller 82). Works Cited Mueller, Warren M.
