This similarity is also seen in the ancient Egypt. In ancient Egypts "Bent Pyramid, one room is said to have cedar wood beams believed to have been imported from ancient Lebanon. This points to inter-boundary trade between the kingdoms.
Rome and Egypt also shared similarities in their way of wealth acquisition and power consolidation. Egypt under the rule of Pharaoh captured a great deal of its wealth from its neighbor. The Pharaoh attacked Libya, which had precious turquoise in its mines purposely for wealth acquisition. He also invaded Nubia a kingdom located south of Egypt in an attempt to advance the kingdom. This motivation for power and wealth was also exhibited by the Roman Empire when it advanced its reign by capturing Sicily Island and Carthage in a Punic war that lasted over a hundred years.
The third similarity between these earlier powers was the practice of engineering. This is not only evidenced in Rome and Egypt but also in Mexico. In Rome, engineering is seen in the way they were able to build warships as well as navigate the rough sea during wars and trade. In Egypt, this is seen by the way they were able to build the famous "pyramids" which extended to very long lengths of about 100 meters. The same is seen among the Teotihuacanians in the way they constructed tunnels that extended to 108 meters in such early time. Finally, a common similarity in all the three cases is the way in which these old structures are being used today for tourist attraction as well as the fact that in both cases, there was some leadership structures although not very clear for the Teotihuacanians now.
While it is true the early kingdoms and empires had similarity, Rome is quite different in the way it used its structures. Egypt and Teotihuacanians used their structures to bury their leaders; this is not the case for Rome. The design of the underground pyramids had chambers just like the tunnel built by Teotihuacanians but not the case with Romans.
