Extract of sample "The Most Significant Moments of the Life"

I am going to brainstorm 10 of the most significant moments
in my life. They were either beautiful, painful, bizarre, strange, fascinating, or transformative in some way. These moments are filled with conflict, turning points, or transitions—which all explore tensions between how I see myself versus how society is trying to shape me. After I make a list of 10 things, I will start to write a short story about the one that affected me the most.
Here is the list:
1. Birth. (This is the short story that I started to write about this topic.) No matter how one slices it, birth is always a painful and transformative experience for all involved, mother and child. As the Mekhilta says, “[A]ll beginnings are difficult.” Coming into the world is beautiful. One’s eyes open to the brightness of the outside world for the first time. Everything is new and fresh. The world is full of many possibilities.
2. Baby’s First Haircut. This is transformational and a rite of passage.
3. Baby’s First Holiday Season. Everyone loves to show off their new baby, but for a young child, it can be a bizarre experience. Read More
