They argue that even after the high-tech protective gear devised in the recent years, there is still a high number of concussions that occur in the field, especially with regard to collegiate football. Their investigation was however directed towards understanding the long term effects of these concussions. In this regard, they wanted to investigate the trend of long term concussion. Their study indicates that although there were alarmingly high number of concussions that occurred during the play time, a great majority of these concussions were not life threatening or detrimental to health of those who suffer them. Arguing against software patents

Software should not be patented, they say? (Anthypophora) Yes, it is only right that software should not be patented since it would not make sense to grant one person the right to a single innovation thereby making it impossible for any other person to come up with the same or even better piece of innovation.
In many instances, software patent lay is shrouded by assumptions and myths (Bird and Jain 56). When one reads the arguments presented online about the criticisms of software patents, it is hard to miss the frequent misunderstanding, unnecessary exaggeration, considerable conspiracy theory and even misdirected equivocation which render these most of these arguments null and without substance (accumulatio). In other words...

... Cultural Context in Rivera’s Controller of the Universe Painting The significant cultural factors that influenced how Rivera painted Man, Controller of the Universe can be said to be intertwined with his thoughts, on the scientific, political, industrial and social possibilities in the twentieth century. ... Postmodernism versus Modernism in Art and Culture Modern art and culture is very distinct from postmodern art and culture.Firstly, modern art and culture is more geared towards social change. Modernist art and culture express rebellion towards anything traditional, and this can somehow be linked to the reasoning that “the conventions of the society were what led to the two World Wars” (Kamhi 33). One can sense this rebellion in Marcel Duchamps “Fountain” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Duchamp_Fountaine.jpg) --- an art piece created in 1917 that somewhat shows a shifting away from the traditional idea of art by creating something which is not traditionally considered as art into an art piece. Postmodern art and culture... Postmodernism...

As emphasized, from the perspectives of the parents, they must be more vigilant and proactive in applying the most effective restraints and controls to ensure that their children, especially young boys, would not be lost, hurt or taken by someone else. Ukraine joining the EU

Although the European Union has always considered Ukraine as a partner based on its principle of the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP), many western countries currently support the establishment of closer ties with Ukraine going beyond co-operation to gradual political and economic corporation and eventual integration of Ukraine into both the European Union and the NATO umbrella (Umland, 2011, 36).
On the other hand, the Russia has always opposed the idea of Ukraine joining the European Union arguing that such moves would be incompatible with the Russia’s national interests as well as the good relations between Russia and Ukraine as former members of the Soviet Union. This is particularly in view of the fact that the Ukrainia...

Conversation

...Conversation School The conversation that I’ve recently took part in happened between me and my close friend and was engaged with discussion around a work of art in a museum. The communicative situation gave me an opportunity to observe different aspects of the speech act and my interlocutor’s behavioral patterns. The conversation started with an analysis of a piece of art. My interlocutor (Mike) was standing in front of the painting and tried to construct a consistent argumentation by pointing on the parts of the painting he was interpreting. His body language seemed constrained, because he crossed his legs and tried to protect his chest zone from time to time by crossing his hands or putting his arm on his chest. At the very beginning...
