Childrens Story of the University Children’s Story Last Saturday we fifteen friends from our Community, in the age group of 5 to7 years, went on a picnic to the Camp Garden by the side of the lake. It has beautiful fountains. With no teachers to say “Do not run fast, be careful about the alligators in the lake waters etc.” we were very happy. Our dear Community Uncle was the leader of the picnic party. We love him and it is fun to talk to him. He tells us stories of adventures. In Camp Garden we began playing by splashing fountain waters on each other. We were drenched like crows. Uncle was keeping watch on us. When we were throwing water on each other, Uncle came to us and said, “Children, children, listen to me, listen to me, Waste no water, waste no water, The Alien lands in this garden all of a sudden, If you waste water, he’ll take you to Mars”! “I want to go to Mars,” I shout at the top of my voice “But why?” “To play with the children! But how will the Alien come?” “He will come in a little shuttle spacecraft”. “Will he take us to the Mars on a picnic?” “Aliens can read your mind.” ….After playing and running around in the garden, at about six in the evening we reached home. After early dinner I slept hard thinking about my trip to Mars!” And the Alien came in my dream! His shuttle landed in my bed-room with a thud. He was in space-suit. He removed his helmet and I watched him in horror. He had odd features with big round eyes. “Rush, take this space-suit. We must take off to Mars at once,” he said. …... Within minutes our space shuttle landed on the Moon. “We will halt here for five minutes, to give you a chance to see Planet Earth” the Alien said. I watched in wonder Earth that was like a ball of fire. “Mars is our next halt! We will reach there in 30 minutes through rough and stormy weather conditions.” The place around was all dark. Strange sounds boomed from all ends. Those thirty minutes were a great experience. “So here we are at the entry gate of Mars!” said the Alien. Now you have to walk on your own.” I alighted from his shoulders and soon the Alien began to grow in size. “Now you will see my original size and shape like other Aliens on Mars”. Soon he was a giant figure of about 12 feet in height. His walk was like the movement of a big lizard. “Are you tired? Do you want to sleep before I take you to sightseeing here?” “No! I wish to see the places”, I said. “Are you homesick?” he asked. “Yes! But I am quite happy in your company.” Alien was welcomed warmly at the gates by his wife, children, friends and relatives. “I have a small family. I have 20 children,” he said. All his children were there to welcome me. They rushed to hug Alien and he kissed them one by one. They were very happy. Their guttural and tonal sounds were odd to me. I just smiled! I felt as if I was entering a cave. Within the cave, there was a big house with many rooms. There was playground inside with green grass. Alien’s children mobbed me. Then all of us were asked to take breakfast and we sat in a big circle. I talked to them in sign language. The children were laughing without break, why I do not know. “This is your friend from Planet Earth and he has come to play with you for just one day. He will teach you games and nursery rhymes from Earth”, said the Alien. Their hailing shocked me. They were powerful in their expressions. “Play with them,” the Alien requested me. With so many friends around me, I began with the nursery rhymes and soon every one of them was on their feet. The children ran round and round, jumped like monkeys as they ran. After fifteen minutes we switched over to the game of musical chair. The Alien was happy to watch. “I asked him, can we get a ball”. The Alien waved his right hand and suddenly balls of all colors, balloons, volley balls, foot balls, and baseballs, rained from his palm…hundreds of them fell from the sky!” “Now some eats!” said the Alien and waved his left hand! Chocolates, toffees, pizza, wafer, tinned fruit juice followed one after another. Someone shouted “I want a hamburger!” Half-a-dozen hamburgers arrived. “Play first or eat first?” “Eat first!” we all shouted. Next, we all children boarded on a chariot-like vehicle that had twelve wheels and our sight-seeing trip on Mars was up to a great start. We enjoyed the scenic beauty of a sea shore, big hills with thick forests, valleys, a zoo that had many types of strange, big animals etc. The Alien told us stories about the galaxy and the Milky Way. “What is special about Aliens?” I asked. “We love children!” he said. The Alien remained quiet for a moment. He said “You children must protect trees. Do something good for nature. Plant a tree on your birthday, besides to cake-cutting.” The Alien looked at his watch that could tell the time-zones of all Planets. “It is time for us to start. If we are late, your parents will be worried.” Then he gave me a telescope-cum-cellphone. “With this you can watch us on the Mars and talk to us from Planet Earth”. He fondly kissed me and took me to the space shuttle. I said “Bye, bye” to all friends. They cheered me by clapping. “Come soon again”, they shouted at the top of their voice. The space shuttle took off with a zoom! For a moment I felt terrible and blocked my ears. ……My dream breaks and I wake up with a start! Moral of the story: Children in any part of the world/cosmos are innocent and make friends easily. Right values like love for nature need to be fixed in their receptive minds. Read More
