Revision of any type of writing is a very useful thing. Obviously, the main purpose of revision is to find mistakes in your text and correct them. Talking about persuasive kind of essay the main mistake that can be found there is lack of persuasiveness, so its revision must be based on fixing this problem.
First of all, there are some types of mistakes that can be found while revising essay. Evidently we don’t take into consideration such basic things as grammar and lexis. In persuasive essay we frequently face the problem of partiality. It seems to us that what we are trying to say in our essay is convincing enough to persuade others in our point of view. But we usually don’t understand that it seems convincing to us just because we’ve already believed in it. That’s why revision may be definitely useful to avoid this problem. The best way to revise a text productively is to ask somebody else to read it and make some remarks about text’s persuasiveness and consistency of its logical structure. Actually lack of logicality in a text sometimes may lead to the fact that your text may be misunderstood by readers. In order to fix logical structure it’s important to ask yourself whether your conclusions correspond with your thesis statement. Moreover, while revising it is useful to check whether the arguments you use to support your idea describe essentially different aspects of the problem, because they shouldn’t occur again and again.
