The workplace, homes, and healthcare providers are some of the chief users of mobile phones. The impact of the smartphones on healthcare, work, socialization, and entertainment has been nothing short of the phenomenon. I. Health CareProvision of healthcare has greatly benefited from the introduction of smartphones. The face of healthcare has immensely changed by the use Smartphone, not only in the actual provision, but also in participation (Sarasohn-Kahn 8). The use of smartphone applications has helped healthcare professionals and laypersons in the following ways, which include;a.
Monitoring disease levels such as the case of smartphone-base glucose monitorsb. Increased participation in the healthcare provision platform. c. Provision of fast hand information on the different ailments and health conditionsd. Management of old patients with multiple chronic health conditions. II. WorkplaceThe work environment has been made more palatable through the increased acceptance of smartphones. Most companies have integrated the smartphones as integral tools for assessment, information gathering, communication and training, and transacting with clients (Pitichat 5).
The specific tasks performed by the smartphones to make the functions of organizations seamless include;a. Exchange platform for employees. These platforms are useful in exchange and sharing of ideas among the workers. b. The performance of employees has been greatly boosted through the use of smartphones because they are able to easily access the job related information necessary for the performance. c. Smartphones have made it easier for employees to get in contact with clients and complete transactions offsite.
This has been enhanced by the use of video conferencing capabilities of the smartphones. This platform can also be used by the management to contact their employees and amongst the employees themselves. III. Socialization and EntertainmentSocialization and the entertainment of Americans have also benefited from the increased use of smartphones. The ability of phones to get Wi-Fi and the increased ability to get 4G network capabilities has enabled people to access the internet Sarwar and Soomro (223).
The increased access to the internet has brought increased use of social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook and online entertainment such as the Apple Store.
