American Independence Day February 22, Introduction The American Independence day celebration is a joyous federal holiday. The holiday occurs in July. The holiday is celebrated with backyard barbecue cooking. Likewise, colorful festive hats are worn during the celebrations. Different groups join the long Independence Day parades (Aloian, 2009). The sources were selected because of their relevance to the American Independence Day benefits. The United States citizens celebrate its independence from Great Britain. The celebration shows the current benefits from the 1776 declaration of independence. The day reminds the people of their hard fought drive to gain freedom. The July 4, 1776 independence day is celebrated every year. During 1776, there were 2.5 million residents. In 2009, there were over 300 million Americans (Aloian, 2009). The people are reminded of their forefather’s gift to the currents 21st century American people. Annually, the American people celebrate the benefits of the American independence. The American Independence Day celebrates the present generations’ benefits generated from the brave 1776 residents of the 13 colonies. One scholar discusses one benefit of the American Independence Day, freedom to improve the communication among other residents in a democratic manner. The author describes how each person in a democratic society tries to improve the communication between two persons. It is an admitted fact that different people have different interpretations of certain words and actions. The journal article’s scholar classifies this as pragmatic failure (Moalla, 2013). The author performs the research on 30 speakers. The research was done in Georgia, United States. The speakers were students from the Kennesaw State University and the Catholic College. There were 30 respondent speakers. The respondents were made to take the Discourse Completion Test. The test determines the speakers’ reactions on certain everyday events (Moalla, 2013). The findings of the research show people interpret each message differently. The difference is brought about by the respondents’ cultural background. Twenty Tunisian students interpreted the compliments as rather insincere. This clearly shows that the students were more interested in the true message of the conversation. The 20 Tunisian students tried to decipher the real message behind the compliments. These same students tried to determine the truthfulness of compliments bestowed on them by the speaker (Moalla, 2013). On the other hand, the other ten students, American students, happily accepted the compliments. The ten students felt that the compliments were accepted social strategies. The strategies include using the compliments as a social function. The social function theory states that people often say nice words in order to start the conversation going. The respondents interpreted the compliments as words that are meant to create a stronger friendship or relationship between the speaker and the listener (Gracy et al., 2014). Another group of researchers show the American Independence Day celebration contributed improving the learning process (Gracy et al., 2014). The researchers conducted an online research by gathering 408 principals and assistant principals from New York City’s middle school and elementary school levels. The researchers posed three topics. The topics dealt with health issues within their school premises. The issues included determining whether the minor’s health affected the students’ learning process. The research findings covered the responses of 821 respondents. The research respondents came from 340 elementary schools, 121 middle schools, as well as 161 high schools within the New York City area. The respondent reported different issues affected the students’ learning process. Consequently, 45 percent of the respondents stated Asthma was a learning barrier. When the students have asthma attacks inside the classroom, the symptoms are difficulty in breathing. When the attacks strike, the students are more interested in trying to breathe. Consequently, the asthmatic student’s focus is no longer on the class lessons (Gracy et al., 2014). Further, 86 percent of the respondents stated disruptive activities were a learning barrier affirmed that healthcare problems slowed the students’ learning process. The disruptive behavior included hyperactivity. When this happens, the student is uneasy. He or she cannot stand perfectly still within the school’s classroom walls. Normally, the student’s attention at this time is shifted from the classroom discussions to other topics. The uneasy student may distract the classroom discussion. Consequently, the other classmates may be bothered by the super active student (Gracy et al., 2014). Further, 40 percent of the respondents stated contagious diseases like flu and stomach viruses slowed the children’s learning process. The student who fall victim to the flu (cold condition) usually has a dripping cold. In some instances, the students’ nose turn’s red. The student continues to wipe his nose with the handkerchief. When this occurs, the student’s attention is shifted from the teacher’s discussing the subjects to trying to containing the flu’s side effects (Gracy et al., 2014). Moreover, eating disorders may trigger slower than normal learning conditions. When this happens, the teacher can slow down the class lesson time period. The teacher can wait for the slow learner to catch up with the rest of the normally learning classmates. A person who has a stomach ache cannot concentrate in class. Consequently, the student may be not be interested in the teacher’s discussions. Another 56 percent of the respondents stated fatigue slowed down the students’ learning speed. A tired student feels sleepy in class. A sleepy student is not listening to the teacher’s discussions. Consequently, the student’s grades drop (Moalla, 2013). Further, 18 percent of the respondents affirmed that diabetes slowed the children’s capacity to learn the day’s lessons (Moalla, 2013). Diabetes is sugar-related. The body’s sugar level is erratic. The uncomfortable student is in pain. Consequently, the student who is suffering from a diabetes attack feels uncomfortable. Being uncomfortable and in pain, the student’s class participation shuts temporarily down. Furthermore, another scholar discusses the gender and perception issues of the present American society (Crawley, 2014). The current American society clearly benefits from the American Independence Day that occurred in 1776. The research included the salary issues. The respondents were 267 college students. The students came from the public liberal arts schools. The schools were located in the Northeastern United State area. The findings indicate that the respondents affirmed race discrimination was not an issue in terms of the salary rates of the workers. Likewise, the respondents affirmed gender was not a factor in terms of the salary rates of the workers. However, the respondents affirmed that education played a vital role in the determination of the employees’ salary rates. Likewise, the male respondents had different job interests compared to the female respondents. Moreover, another research discusses the conflicting effects of the social and academic environment (Sinanan, 2012). The environment shows beneficial effects of the American Independence Day. The research delves on the academic, social, and institutional factors that mold the learning process of the African American male students. The research was conducted on African American students. The students were studying in a New Jersey school. The majority of the students are White Americans. The respondents were composed of 13 African Americans. The student respondents’ ages were between 18 years old and 25 years old. The students came from Newark, Atlantic City, and Camden. Further, the findings of the above research showed the African American’s issues. First, the African American students were culture shocked to learn the White Americans had different cultural upbringing compared to the African Americans. The respondents affirmed that racial discrimination was causing tension between the African Americans and the White Americans. One respondent stated that one dorm facility housed only White American students. Likewise, the White American students saw each African American student as having the same traits, character, temperament, and preferences as other African American person living in the United States. Ten out of the 13 African American student respondents felt they did not belong to the School population. Furthermore, the reason given was because there were only a few African American students in the school. Thus, the African American students felt that they were minority within the school population. The respondents felt that the faculty should increase the quality of the time spend with the African American students. The respondents felt that faculty quality time is better than spending faculty quantity time. The respondents felt that the White faculty members delivered better quality time to the White students compared to the African American students. Consequently, the African American students felt more comfortable conversing with African American faculty members. Moreover, another author discusses the benefit is the people’s democratic right to regularly vote for the United States president (Prechter et al., 2012). The 1776 declaration of independence paved the way for the regularly scheduled elections. The research delves on the effect of the presidential elections on the United States stock market prices. The research focused on the stock market indicators. The indicators include the Dow Jones industrial average. The average is one of the most popular indicators of the stock market’s vibrancy. The researchers used the data from the stock market’s database as basis for the findings and conclusions. More importantly, the findings of the above research are very realistic. The presidential elections affect the rise and fall of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Clearly, the strong landslide victories in the United States’ presidential elections significantly influenced the Dow Jones Industrial Average results. The researcher explains that the landslide victory means the winning president won by a huge margin of votes. The large margin may either be in the area of electoral votes or in the area of population vote. Specifically, the landslide victories significantly increased the stock market’s Dow Jones Industrial Average prices. Likewise, the research indicated that the presidential elections do not significantly influence our nation’s Gross Domestic Production (Prechter et al., 2012). Lastly, the scholars/researchers indicated that future researches in the same research area. The new researches can be done to validate or negate their findings. The new researchers may use the current research findings of the above five researchers as a jump off point for their own separate researchers. This way, the new researches can start on more solid ground. Conclusion The above discussion clearly shows that the importance of our American Independence Day celebration. The July 4, 1776 Independence Day that culminated with the Declaration of Independence, made possible the regularly scheduled presidential elections. The same occasion made possible the African American’s right to take up a college education. Likewise, the activity shows the 1776 declaration of independence paved the way for today’s quality education.
