Perceiving The Problem Of Poverty In Modern Society Introduction Stereotypes in the present society are constant acts. People give different views towards different situation in a manner that lowers the dignity of the individuals within the bracket of concern. Additionally such factors lower the confidence of such individuals (Schrecker 20). Such factors also have psychological impacts on the individuals under the same subject due to the human mind. They tend to accept the situation as they come. Stereotypes are judgmental attitudes towards a given group by using some extent of myths or believe. Poverty is unavoidable circumstances in the current societies. Acceptance of poverty, however, has not been an easy fact that the people can easily accept (Stark 381). Stimulating stereotype among the poor people is a factor that would increase inequality in the societies. Even though people have the right to different opinions concerning the poor people, stereotype of individuals based on poverty have brought limited freedom among the low-income families. People stereotype the poor based on education. The poor people have the view of being uneducated individuals (Peck 15). The society views the poor as people who were not ready to work towards achieving given goals in school. People in the society view education as the last option of eliminating poverty. This implies that there is an attachment of essentiality on education as the only way for gaining access to wealth. This leads to stereotype among the poor people in the society. The biased individuals view the poor as people think that the poor people are in the circumstances due to their liking. This is an aspect of stereotype behavior. With this respect there has been a widened gap concerning the different class of people that base on education practices. It gives rise to the learned and unlearned in the society. Such activities have created low freedom among the low-income families within the communities. For example, the do not have access to certain urban sectors where people go to study due to low self esteem and inability to achieve the same. Additionally, there is bias in evaluating the position of the poor such as lazy in the society (Rank 63). They do not recognize poverty as part of life. Some people believe that the poor people are individuals who are not ready to take on opportunities that come their way. This implies that the poverty in different individuals results from the inability to take a proper action to mitigate the same. This is discrimination on the poor persons. Laziness can be the voluntary inability to facilitate ad execute activities in a way that best satisfies progress. This is the stereotype view that individuals in the societies give to the poor in their communities. They believe that the idle nature of people make them lazy and are, therefore, unable to perform the required activities. This has also led to the disparities in different classes referred to as the class struggles. For example, there are the working class and the low class in the society due to the element of poverty in the life of some people. This has limited their freedom in the society since the mindset does not allow them to undertake any developmental activity due to the notion of laziness attached to them within the community. The poor are seen as violent people in the community. In this case, the poor always have a view of people who are always struggling in life. The society views the poor people as a group of individuals who are always uneasy and in an unrest status all the time. They believe that the poor people always undergo psychological trauma because they cannot afford a given level of life that may be normal to the others. People view the low-income families in an appealing way towards violence. They assume the poor people have millions of problems that they wish to solve. They, therefore, have a view of an individual who would do anything in order to satisfy the impending needs. This also widens the gap between the poor and the well off in the society. This is a source of class struggles since the individuals within the bracket of poverty have the view of incumbent and volatile individuals. This will still further create disparities within the people in a society. This is one of the central factors limit freedom among the poor families within a community. For example, they do not have access to a given class or group since the people believe that they are violent enough not to fit in a given class or group of people. According to Payne (2005), the society views elements that would not make it possible to enhance changes in the violent nature. For example, Payne implies that the people that the jail is a common place for the low-income families. However, Gorski asserts that such action as explained by Ms. Payne is a wrong view of judgment. The respondents claim that there is no basis for the judgments and this problem would only lead to further distribution of inequality practices. Such factors show the attitude that the poor individuals are violent and always look for something to take them to jail. Additionally, the poor groups are under the influence of subjecting children to harsh conditions. The people who live within the poor conditions that would even allow them substitute love for food materials. This makes an individual to become stereotyped. This would lead to actions that would reduce the equality among the poor persons. In such assumptions, people would definitely continue to make the conditions even more risky to environmental disparities according to Gorski. In a political sense, people vie poverty in the line of races and ethnicity. For example, the people view poverty to be based on the classes of ethnic groups for example in a situation involving the white people and black community. The politicians and political theories talk about the poverty in terms of ethnic and other racial factors. They claim that a given line of race or ethnic group has a certain level poverty due to the lack of political opportunities given to them. Additionally on the political ground, the view is that poor people distort the traditional values. The political sense base the stereotypy on the racial grounds makes poverty a great danger to the community. Additionally, the political sense stereotype poverty based on gender. They believe that women are the most vulnerable to poverty due to distortion of traditional values as aforementioned. To add on this, the political practitioners view poverty to affect the individuals who oppose the ruling governments. The stereotype that people give the low-income families to be associated with curses is also a common scenario (Armstrong 48). The well off in the community always think the people in a state of poverty are in their positions because some communal or family curses. They think that the inability to afford a given level of life standards derives greatly from past curses form the ancestors. They associate such curses with mistakes that took place in their lineage. This argument may not be the case among the poor people. It does not reflect the state of poverty that exists among such groups in the society. This makes a given level of avoidance by the society members. For example, other members of the society speculate that relation with the poor people would lead generation of curses within them. Such activities and mindsets would no favors bonding within the community. It creates a layer of class struggles that may not allow for unity within the community. Such classes may be such as the outcast and the freeborn within a society. This is also another fundamental elements that minimizes the ability of individuals to access Poverty among the individuals implies different factors based on duties. Different individuals believe that different persons have different roles in the society depending on the level of income that the people within the bracket. For example, a good look at the society may automatically identify the poor people by observing the duties they perform in the society. For example, the poor people are believed to perform the hard labored jobs in the community. Though this might be the case, one can never be extra sure of the duty that a person performs within a society. This stereotype creates an extent of class disparities based on given factors that may limit bonding within a society. Associating the poor people with activities such as social evils within the society is a common activity within the society (Gorski 302). For example, the people in a community view the poor ones in an angle of social misconduct. For example, the poor people are believed to subject into activities like alcoholism, theft, and other sexual harassment activities. Though this may be the case, many still do not have sufficient evidence concerning the idea of social evils among the low-income individuals. Such activities does not allow the poor people to have freedom within the society Additionally, people stereotype the people based on certain elements. They stereotype the people based on health conditions (Wilson 84). They say that the poor people are always dirty. This is one of the dehumanizing factors, which the poor face in the society. For example viewing the people as dirty and weird in the community may lead to an aspect that would imply a negative feedback in terms of relations in the community. This limits the freedom of the poor people in the society. For example, the feeling that someone is dirty and weird makes a feeling of incompleteness in the society. This is an adverse effect on the views of the less fortunate people in the society. This factor limits the freedom of the low-income people in enhancing development. The freedom of association and free interaction declines because the people in this case do not feel social acceptance and free relation among the members of the society. This diminishes the ultimate freedom among the poor individuals among the individuals. Conclusion People also perceive the poor being drug addicts and criminal activities (Gustafson 643). Under this context, the individuals in the poverty bracket experiences humiliation and social neglect the society. This is one of the stereotypical factors would limit the normal life of individuals in the society. This is one of the effects of poverty and the insufficient views among the individuals in the community. These contexts limit the ability of the individuals to live freely within the society.
