EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

As a request from the higher management to provide an informative report on the best flight ticket to Doha, I have put together this report to compare three airline flight agencies: Qatar Airways, Fly Emirates, and United Airlines. I have used three different criteria in choosing the airline flights considered herein. These three criteria are that the flight had to be in Doha on the 5th of August 2013 relative to the pricing; there should be business class seats available; and the flight routes should have the minimum number of stops. Using the official websites of the flight airlines and the feedback from the managers as borrowed from the databases of the companies, I came up with this report to determine the best flight.

Following the study of the available information using the stated criteria, as a PR supervisor, I found Qatar Airways as being the best flight that met our criteria requirements. I recommend that we purchase the ticket from Qatar Airways because it is the best for the higher management needs.

PURPOSE:

There is a major conference for OLS managers around the world to be launched in Doha on the 6th of August 2013 and the higher management has asked me as PR supervisor to plan for this trip. The timeline for the execution of this task and delivery of appropriate and informed rrecommendationswas one week from the date of the request being placed. I needed to compare the airline flights to get the best deal within this time frame. Although our PR department made previous research about different flights, this research aimed at updating the comparison in our company database.

The task required the provision of information on the availability of the flights on the 5th of August 2013 and their relative prices, availability of business class seats, and the possibility of a minimum number of connection flights to the final destination. Using the official websites of the flights airlines gave information for comparison based on the stated criteria (see table Table 1).

Date and Price

It was important to appreciate cost as the lesser important issue as compared to availability on the set date. It was found out that all the airlines had flights on the 5th of August. However, United Airlines had the lowest price of $ 6,045 while the other two charged equally and more than United Airlines by $ 1,220.

Business Class

The second priority in the criteria was having business class seats on the plane and its listing as one of the five-star airplanes. After reviewing the websites of the listed airlines, I found that Qatar Airways and United Airlines had available business class seats but Fly Emirates had its business class seats fully reserved on the 5th of August. The chance of getting a ticket on Fly Emirates required one to be on the waiting list and the chance of securing a seat was less than 15 %.

Connection Flights

The number of connection flights to the final destination is important to the higher management because they would not want to have a lot of interchange between flights. Based on the collected data from the websites, Qatar Airways had only one connection flight and it would reach its destination on the same day. The other two had two connection flights with the United Airlines set to arrive at its final destination the next day.

CONCLUSION:

In conclusion, I recommend the purchase of tickets from Qatar Airways. The fact that this airline’s travel agency had available flights to travel to Doha on the 5th of August 2013 would ensure that the higher management reaches the final destination before the conference date. Additionally, the available business class seats guarantee the comfort of the higher management with a 5-star rated flight. With this class, the management can access their emails and company accounts remotely. Moreover, Qatar Airways has only one connection flight and reaches its final destination on the same day going by early flight. Despite its high cost, it met the needed criteria as set by the higher management. To further support this recommendation, the company records indicate that the airline had been previously recommended for management’s future flights.
