Crime Increases on Campus Crime Increases on Campus Dear Hate crimes, theft and rapes have turned into an obvious apprehension on college and university campuses. However, the most distressing crime noted within campus is found to be the school shooting accidents (CollegeStats, 2013). While choosing an institute, becoming a victim of such a crime could be the last thing to be thought by any parent or student. Over the years, the potentials of risk on a campus have been found to be increasing due to the accounted crimes varying from stealing to assassination.

Both parent and students have become increasingly worried about the safety when moving towards the campus due to the recently reported shooting accidents. It is essential for students to be provided a safe and secure environment at the campus they are studying. Such a secure environment may lead to an increased interest of students in their studies as they may feel the campus to be similar to that of their own home. So in order to ensure such an environment for learning, many aspects are needed to be sought out and taken in to consideration.

One such important aspect is the safety and security of the students within the campus. In order to be safe and secure a campus requires being adequately equipped with emergency accidental cases as well as the ability to curb the crimes within the campus. Aim and ObjectiveThe mishaps of campus fierceness have appealed notice of broad publicity recently due to the increased crime rate within campuses. To address this issue there are two ways of addressing the problem. The common law is the foremost that provides regulations regarding the conduct within educational institutions.

These laws and regulations are common for all campuses. Another way is the use of administrative authority of the campus to enforce its own formulated regulations to control the campus violence. Besides the authoritative enforcement, the modern technology helps in the attainment of the goal of a safe and sound environment within the campus by bridging the gaps in the security by manual monitoring (Hyland, 2003). Security Services RangeThe range of security services recommended for the purpose is listed below.1. Video ScreeningInstall CCTV camera system in all entrances and exit point.

All staircases and elevators should be equipped with security camera systems.The most advanced system of cameras with night visibility and other functions are needed to be utilized. 2. Building Access Control SystemInstall BACS in all buildings to ensure security of databases.3. Duress ButtonsInstall duress buttons at areas where there is possibility of threat exists (Information Technology Services, 2013).4. Volunteer Services Provide students adequate training to handle accidental situations.

Few student teams should be designed to provide private and volunteer security services.These teams are needed to be properly equipped and trained to deal with campus violence.5. PenaltiesEnsure severe penalties in cases of campus violence.The disciplining rules and regulations should be clearly communicated within all members within the campus. Project Benefits and FeasibilityUpon completion of project the crime rate within the campus could be declined by 90% resulting in the resolution of campus violence completely.

The safe and secure environment will result in increased admissions within the campus and better results. This security plan has been tested by Central Alarm Security Systems in a violent campus within States and the quoted results were attained as the crime rate was declined by 90% within the campus. Time DurationThe installation of CCTV camera system will require 2 days and can be completed in one weekend. The safety training of students requires 5 sessions and can be done arranged in weekends.

The student security teams training can be done in 6 sessions and can be arranged in weekends. The other security measures can be planned in vacations and enforced upon commencement of academic session. Project CostsThe institute will have to pay for the installation of technological devices to enhance surveillance and for the training services.ConclusionWe feel really glad to provide our services to enhance security within your campus.
