While a lot of people criticize technology, especially television for an assault on privacy and playing down of information available in media, we forget to understand that television forms the facet of our culture, the community that we fashioned ourselves, and the society we live in. Just as our culture is molded by the effects of television, so is the nature of our way of thinking, which is brought about by our constant observation of the so-called “great cyclopean boob tube”. Television shapes public opinion as asserted by the agenda-setting theory of mass communication.

The gen that we glean out from watching the television affects our perceptions about different issues in the community as it replaces some of our former understandings of the varied disputes and arguments encompassing our environment. [Student’s Last Name] 2Personally, I use television as my prime source of information and current events. Because of its extensive coverage and the quality of the material that you receive from them, it permanently becomes the foundation from which I direct my elucidations of any political and social arguments.

On account of the numerous source of news and coverage of current events, the knowledge that I have gained from watching television sets the platform on which I link and rate the accuracy of the information that I encounter from other sources like newspapers, radio, and the internet. Momentarily, the quality of radio and TV programming is satisfactory on the whole.
