These qualities endow economics with unique characteristics for anybody interested and conscious of the role played by resource management for solving problems and progressive development.
My first interest in the field of economics was as a result of experience growing up in China. As a small boy I used to wonder why some pupils would get better grades than others despite being in the same classroom and being taught by the same teachers. Although I would hear of people talking about differences in abilities and talents, I realized that resource management was the key. In essence, some pupils managed their time well and created room for studying instead of playing throughout their free time. The simple concept of resource management has since been a guide for me in all my endeavours.
I have been a witness to two major economic crises; the Hong Kong economic crisis in 1997 and the economic crisis in the U.S in 2008. The hopelessness and the suffering the crises caused were far reaching affecting the economy from the personal level, organizational level and even globally. For a moment I viewed the crises as mammoth challenges that could not be approached using my simple concept of resource management. However, I have come to realize that with the correct knowledge I can play my part by learning how to respond when such situations arise, in whatever economic capacity I will be involved with in future.
Currently, I am studying at De Anza College and am looking for an opportunity to major in Economics to allow me to pursue a successful career in the field of Economy.
