While individual earning appears to be a preferred method of learning by different learners, research seems to favor collaborative learning, owing to its outcomes and efficiency of the learning process. This paper analytically explores collaborative learning as a method of learning. By describing the advantages and disadvantages of collaborative learning, this paper targets at giving a recommendation from the findings. It will incorporate a review of secondary data material of authors who previously have written on this topic. 1.1 Background For a long time, researchers and education experts have tried to identify the most effective learning method to use in schools.
Different experts hold different perceptions on what exactly an effective learning method entails. Some hold that the effectiveness of the method in meeting the learning objectives and goals describes the most effective method. This is true; however, there are other considerations to put into place before drawing such a conclusion. One of these methods is collaborative learning. Defined as a situation where two or more people study together, this method has its own advantages and disadvantages (Byrd & Luthy, 2010).
Collective learning could also mean learning in groups. . e Study The main reason of writing this report is to establish the advantages and disadvantages of collaborative learning as a method used in learning. This is because different people have held diverse ideas and thoughts on this method. After currying out a comprehensive research through secondary research methods, the paper will make a recommendation on the effectiveness of collaborative learning as a method used in learning. 1.3 Scope of Study This research hopes to cover on collective learning as a learning technique.
Its main objective is conducting an analysis of the method. In particular, it will examine the advantages of the method as a learning tool as well as its disadvantages. Additionally, it will cover on the factors affecting quality group learning among students. Every learning technique has its unique advantages and disadvantages. Before making a recommendation on the effectiveness of this method as a learning tool, this research will analyze the method, and draw conclusions. However, it does not examine individual learning or other methods of learning, as its objective confines it to this individual technique.
Subsequently, it draws no comparisons between different learning techniques used in learning. Personally, I believe that collective learning or learning in groups is an effective learning tool in the study process. Nonetheless, I will support this perception through research in this paper. 2.0 Discussion 2.1 Advantages of Collaborative Learning Different factors support collaborative learning as a learning tool. These form the basis for different researchers and scholars recommending it as a tool in the learning process.
There are a number of advantages associated with this method of learning. According to Davies (2009), group work promotes
