Ban on corporal punishment on school Many individuals still take corporal punishment as a way of effectively teaching the children. Ultimately, there is fear that the generation being in progress will not have better ability to distinguish between wrong and right. Fortunately, a group for pro-CP’ers insists that system of discipline, as well as punishment, could not be effective, since this will eventually affect students’ critical thinking. Finally, there is aspect that corporal punishment in institution shows who has mandate to maintain strict discipline in the entire school. On the other hand, in alliteration, there are those who oppose corporal punishment of any form. This group explains that teachers get their pay out of teaching but, on the other side of the fence, they can also act as parents, and furthermore, it is mandatory for parents to administer ethical guidance and good moral inducement. Eventually, this sites that there is a reason for a usual behavior, hence, a strategic system can diversify it. Alternatively, every child in possession of bad habits should undergo the elimination of such demonstration. The negative effects of corporal punishment Several problems are as the results of corporal punishment in the schools. For instance, some pupils may incur brain damage and rupture of the eardrum. Occasionally, death does occur if a pupil takes up an exercise in its excess under the influence of the sun or bad temperature. Even though corporal punishment does not fit the best way of administering good morals to children, it is still widely used by both parents and teachers as per the survey, which did concern 2,705 pupils that were at the age of 18. According to father Muwina, corporal punishment does not necessary impact children with good morals or imposes self-discipline and respect to other when they mature. Alternatively, it creates behaviors that are not sociable and, hence, distorting sound judgments. Notably, he says that many has literally used the biblical speech that says “Spare the rod and you will spoil the child” to be the excuse on the corporal punishment administration which, in turn, causes harm to the pupils. Furthermore, corporal punishment goes against the ethical process of development whereby it dedicates children into certain behavior since they might fear the punishment that is hitherto. Unfortunately, it does not teach the children ethics and reason on which is the correct way to follow. Similarly, corporal punishment on children leads to a perception that violence is a vital response to resolution of conflict and un-wanting behavior. In addition, it teaches the children that powerful individuals have the mandate to be violent to other weaker party and, hence, be solving issues through chaos. It is pertinent that increasing degree in level of the violence in gender, especially not in favor of the women and children, is observed because of the outdated and alarming way of discipline to young people. Automatically, exposing young people onto the above way of conflict resolution may make them potential initiators of such behavior later in life. It is disheartening to note that this habit causes destructive effect on individuals and the whole society at large. Herein, corporal punishments do violate rights of human nature to physical veracity and, lastly, human self-esteem. Statistics According to survey, about 70% for the young people did found corporal punishment to be intolerable at neither school nor home. The pupils said that the practice is not good for emotional and physical and so it brings about fear to them, hence, reducing the concentration among them. Furthermore, 11% of the pupils did prefer corporal punishment when in discipline administration. Unfortunately, this was in favor by the low-incomers environment. In conclusion, corporal punishment is essential in the rectification of behavior, since this makes an individual think well. Critical thinking will ensure good decision-making and sound mind speaks. Although many learning institutions wish to put it into practice, parents and external bodies tent to put more of opposing nature (Anderson 89). It is well evident that teachers play a vital role in implementing good morals to children and so they should remain in that position. After all, no one will be happy to teach a rude student who strives to cause negatives to the person in his vicinity. Actually, the urge is to the opposing organization to try to think the future of the children they are trying to protect. There is a saying that if the rod is not in use, then the child will go astray. Correction does not come on one party alone, but the cooperation of the other party.
