Title: Project Management - Case study number 2 Name: ID: Dated: May 31, 2009. Executive summary: The project is designed to build a Recreational Vehicle (RV) and a boat garage on the property of Mr. and Mrs. David Laurence with a total cost of £37,000 in duration of 120 days. The successful execution of the project will result in the creation of Recreational Vehicle (RV) as in compliance with the new city ordinance regarding the RV and boat parking. The designing of the product is with the help of prefabricated parts as per international standard in the existing home. The other utilities are already present at the project's sight; therefore, the same will be used in the project for the synthesis of major deliverables as in the shape of garage structure and all other physical attached components. The project will start as on May 20, 2009 and will be completed in a short period of four months. The activities of the project are formulated in the shape of Gnat Chart and their review will be accomplished as in accordance with the activity-on-node technique basis. All the sub-activities as designed for the completion of the project will be reviewed as on regular basis and all the activities are expected to deliver their due share for the timely completion of the project. The review and analysis of the project will serve as a guiding principle for making necessary amendments in the activities chart as designed for the project will help in the execution of the project as on regular basis. Work break down structure is designed exactly for 120 days or 17 weeks and the execution with the adoption of critical are the key elements which played a significant role in the completion of the project within the given time period. The activities as formulated for the execution of the project are completed with the utilization of the required inputs as on optimum basis and with the involvement of the managerial skills, the desired results will be achieved as in the shape of physical structures for the project. Introduction: The developmental projects are executed with the utilization of four major types of the resources as are used as input for the completion of the project within a given time period. These four major types include human resources as in the shape of project manager, technical personals and other allied human resources for the completion of the tasks, technical resources as in the shape of tools, instruments and moulds, financial resources as in the shape of money and the system along with necessary rules and regulations for the successful completion of the project. The project as to establish a Recreational Vehicle and boat garage on the property of Mr. and Mrs. David Laurence is executed in compliance with the new city ordinance regarding RV and boat parking the execution of the project will exactly be in accordance with the physical dimensions as per the relevant provisions of the city ordinance and to deliver the product in a timely manner. The project will be completed with in the financial limit as £37,000 and in the given time period that is 4 months from the starting data as May 20, 2009. The project is divided into 7 major components as project planning selection of the site work and laying down the foundation, framing, exterior dimensions, interior dimensions, ground work as to install the components and finally submission of the project document along with the necessary material for its acceptance by the concerned city department. The execution of the project will be completed with the observance of the critical path analysis, designing of the activities as on the basis of Gnat chart, monitoring and review and finally, the preparation of a report to the concerned authorities for its final approval. The project will be monitored as on the basis of the Gnat chart and with the help of the completed tasks as on regular and weekly basis. Any deviation from the approved activity chart will be reported to the top management for its rectification and necessary amendments in the overall execution plan of the project. The project will deliver its output within the stipulated timeframe and the project will also serve as a prototype for its replication in future, too.
