The paper "Evaluation of Industrial Engineering Program" is a wonderful example of a research proposal on engineering and construction. Both the private industries as well as the public sector are interested in the level of entry for engineers with regard to the competence of the professional engineering practice. The engineering curriculum system, as well as the engineering accreditation requirements, is expected to focus majorly on the issues that are concerned with the manner in which the competency of engineers can be improved and enhanced in terms of the professional requirements which involve ethics, communications, economics, leadership, as well as creativity so that they can be able to work comfortably and effectively in the management of projects and handle various problems and issues as their profession and the society may demand from them.

Such professional expectations are perceived as bringing about complications to engineering studies. Engineers are charged with the responsibilities of handling an ever-developing system of the curriculum in the course of their study activities (Dou, 172).It has, however, been noticed that a lot of the courses that are included in the inmost engineering curricula have put the engineering students in situations where they find themselves with little or no room for the development of professional practices that are expected to play an important role in enabling them to become better decision-makers, skillful communicators, creative thinkers, team leaders as well as efficient problem solvers.

The proper and careful consideration of courses that are geared towards the achievement of success in engineering professional practices is an important step in the design of the engineering curriculum as well as in the engineering program accreditation requirements. The crunch of time that has to do with the engineering curriculum that is heavily packed is one of the challenges that call for the redesigning and adjustments that are necessary for the realization of high quality and appropriate engineering education that is aimed at solving the engineering problems and addressing the society’s engineering needs and expectations (Ershi and Runliang, 143).

The redesigning and adjustments of the curriculum through the process of time crunch has proved to be a complicated exercise in ways such as the contextualized process of learning with problem-solving and higher-order thinking.
