From the list provided in the instruction, I chose issue number 8 which is Engineer Better Medicine. That is why I did the case on Henrietta Lacks which is relevant to this issue:

Introduction

This is the background of the issue of ethics and how it relates to modern professionals. Engineering has a number of challenges that must be addressed in order to make sure that their practice is done within the limits of human rights and ethical standards. For instance, medical researchers are involved in engineering new drugs which help in improving human health. In this line of work, ethical situations always arise and it is necessary for them to come to terms with these situations.

Case Description

The case involves a medical researcher who failed to include ethics in his practice. As a medical doctor, carrying out research requires that one inform the patients that they are being used or involved in research. In this case, the doctor failed in his obligation.

Discussions

The issues are discussed in detail from the obligations of the people involved to the effect on the parties. This is an analysis of how the professionals as well as the organization in which they were working behaved. How the family of the victim reacted to the issue.

Conclusion

Every ethical situation has a moral middle ground. This part looks at how the ethical situation should have been handled while getting the best outcome. The doctor wanted to make sure that he could get the opportunity to research a medical issue and thus contribute positively to human health. However, there was a better way to guarantee that this happened.
