This regulation is an essential element in the new framework of FAOE to nurture good safety habits in all people to engender a powerful safety culture in the workplace. The Act requires stakeholders to implement logical practicable measures to maintain the health and safety of workers as well as other people that are affected by the daily operations of the engineering operations (O’Neill, 2002).

The Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations provide a lawful framework for workplace safety and health. Specific sections of this Act apply to the initiation and development of procedures and policies as well as the general duties of care of the employees. Its main provisions are:
- To provide and sustain as far as is, feasible for workers a working environment that is safer and with no risks to health. In this feature, “feasible” means doing what can be achieved in terms of the cruelty of the risk or hazard in question; the suitability and availability of ways to mitigate or remove that risk; and the state of knowledge about the given risk and any techniques of mitigating the hazards.
- Another feature of the Occupational Health and Safety Act is that it sets out a framework to build procedures and policies in which a health and safety board is established. The board formulates, disseminates, and reviews the rules, standards, and procedures to employees associated with safety and health that are to be complied with or carried out at the workplace.

The above regulations are relevant in the World Federation of Engineering Organization (WFEO) because this organization has set a working environment that is geared to the advancement of the engineering profession. The engineers, therefore, are made aware of the procedures, rules and policies of the firm. Since its mission is to create a professional team that helps in disaster reduction through the transfer and exchange of technology from one nation to another, the regulations are vital in ensuring that the technologies are transferred safely with special consideration to the health of the workforce.

He or she gives expert skills and knowledge to create and promote positive health and safety attitudes. This represents a major role in assisting to control work-related risk. They work in collaboration with employees, employers, trade unions, and directors (Murray & Dainty, 2013).

The Health and Safety advisor is responsible for making sure that all legislations related to safety are adhered to and practices and policies are adopted. They are also responsible for helping to plan, monitor, and review the preventive and protective measures that the organization is required or opts to track and work to minimize occupational health problems, operational losses, injuries, and accidents.

On the other hand, the participation of the employees supports hazard control by motivating their “ownership” of safety policies. This helps to establish a thought that the entire organization and employees in it, gain from safety performance and good health. Pooling experience and knowledge by participating, involvement and participation, means that safety and good health are part and parcel of every member of the society.

The tasks and responsibilities of the Health and safety advisor may also have an impact on the people outside the organizations. The safety and health policies offered are for the well-being of the rest of the community that is connected to the company in one way or the other. For instance, the employees are the first people whom the policies will ensure that they are successful and stable in their operations (O’Neill, 2002). A safe working environment is also a basis for the well-being of the contractors, visitors, and suppliers. This is a positive element to the name of the organization and provides a foundation for great relationships between the community and the organization as they associate themselves with a safe and healthy environment.
