A Degree in Business Administration - Management - Admission/Application Essay Example

As previewed from the university’s official website, “the BSBA-MGT degree prepares students for a broad range of occupations in virtually every sector of the economy” (UF, 2011).  I am a transfer student from Texas Technical University in Lubbock, Texas, and am currently studying Energy Commerce with an emphasis in Oil & Gas, and honestly, I strongly dislike it. I would like to do something that can hopefully make a difference in the world by pursuing a business degree.

I plan to use these skills, knowledge, and abilities by applying for managerial positions in global organizations in the near future. I would like to be instrumental in contributing to the improvement in productivity, not only of global organizations but more so, of people from diverse cultural orientations, through an application of contemporary leadership theories that focus on servant and transformational leadership, among others. Through motivational frameworks and by developing improved performance appraisal and evaluation methods, I plan to eradicate biases in gender, race, and age through the incorporation of diversity in culture in the global organization I would be an active part of.

I plan to be a proactive leader, a committed colleague and a prime mover and catalyst of change to adapt and adjust to the demands of the ever-changing and competitive environment.
