INTERVENTION SELECTION AND DESIGN of the Introduction Performance improvement is based on the process of selecting and designing proper and effective intervention process. Improving the performance of employees is a very systematic process but involves many complex things. Many external and internal factors create a strong influence on performance development process. The act of intervention is a conscious process which helps to change and improve performance of employees. Selecting intervention process helps to identify different growth opportunities of the company. For improving performance of employees different ideas and options are recommended by the companies which are included in designing intervention. The process of selecting intervention is complex. Different tools and models are used for selecting and designing effective intervention which will be best suited for the company and enhances its growth and success. Impact of intervention Westford Bank was acquired by Spring Harbor Bank of Michigan. Spring harbor bank is a domestic financial intuition which focused on banking services. This accusation was done for diversifying loan portfolio of Spring Harbor Bank. For improving the performance of the employee this bank selected and designed intervention process which contributed a lot in achieving its organizational goals. The bank experienced different impacts of their intervention process. It helped to increase the customer base of the bank by expanding their business. By this process a large number of employees got involved in this business which facilitates the company in providing services to many more customers and satisfying them (Robert and Peter, 1984). The existing employees of Spring Harbor got access of banking technology of Westford Bank. It helped them to enhance their knowledge about banking technology and improve their performances. Designing appropriate intervention created a positive impact on the company. Intervention process was selected for improving internal communication of the company. This resulted in focusing and selecting different interest of employees and stakeholders for improving employee performance and business productivity. Spring Harbor was not motivating for the employees. For selecting intervention process organizational environment was analyzed and according to that the process is selected. It impacted in the change of company policies, improve in individual performance its sales trend etc. For implementing this process performance gap of the employees are analyzed. It created a strong impact on selecting effective design of intervention which will have a strong effect on employees. Challenges faced Spring Harbor Bank has different kinds of employees. Acquisition of West ford Bank has increased its employee strength. Employees of another organization have a different mindset. The company has to deal with these factors. Spring Harbor Bank has to develop intervention process according to the mindset and requirement of the employees. The organization focused on different skills of employees for selecting intervention process. Many employees do not co operate with the company in implementing this process. Major Challenge faced by the company in customizing training according to the needs and requirement of its employees. Work skills and capacity of employees differ a lot. The bank had to analyze them properly for selecting and designing the process. The offices of Spring Harbor Bank were located in different location. Providing training to all employees together was a big problem for the company. The bank did not have appropriate system which could provide support in selecting and designing intervention. Development of those systems and using them effectively for improving the work performance of its employees became a challenging factor for the organization. Selection of intervention process involves in reducing usage of paper and travelling. Making the employees understanding these concepts was also a difficult job for the company. Intervention connecting organizational goal Proper selection and designing of intervention process helps to fulfill organizational goals efficiently. Implementation of suitable plan improves employee’s performance. Every firm has some specific goals. According to those goals work is allotted to different employees based on their skills and capabilities. The company needs to guide its employees for improving their work performances. For this reason intervention process is designed and implemented by the company for achieving its goal quickly. Spring Harbor Bank also selected and designed an intervention process for improving its employee performance after acquiring Westford Bank. The goal of the company was to expand its business by diversifying loan portfolio of the company. For this purpose all of its employees required effective training on its products and to develop themselves for achieving their targets. As per this organizational goal Spring Harbor Bank designed its intervention in such a way which helped to improve employee performance and organizational process (Pershing, 2006). Different methods and system were implemented by the company for understanding the sales process and evaluating benefits of those processes. Supervisors and managers were involved for doing adjustments in company procedures and policies. For achieving organizational goals employees work performances was required to improve. Therefore Spring Harbor Bank selected the intervention process of providing effective training to its employees for making them understand about company objectives and job role they required to perform. For selecting appropriate intervention process the entire business of the bank was analyzed which helped to find out major problem of the company and different way in solving them. This helped the bank in achieving its goals. Model or tool Spring Harbor Bank used performance improvement model for selecting and designing intervention for the company. This is a model of change management which contributes a lot in improving the performance of employees. This model is a systematic approach used for developing the productivity of company. By implementing this model the bank realized many opportunities which associated with employee performances. HPT model helped to analyze, select, develop and design different cost effective program which influenced employee behavior and their performances. This model evaluates different program and system of bank which plays a vital role in fulfilling its goal and objectives. HPT model highlights different results and outcomes of various proposed solutions. It helped stakeholders of the bank to determine company’s objectives (Van, Moseley, and Dessinger, 2012). By this model organizational member gets an idea about different business risk which is associated with employee performances. HPT model provided a systematic view to Spring Harbor Bank in building and improving strong relationship of company practices and marketplace by the employee. It shows the process of developing and designing different intervention process. The bank analyzed the performance gap of its employees by implementing this model. Actual causes of the performance gap were highlighted and according to that interventions were designed. Recommendations Spring Harbor Bank needs to improve employee performance for achieving its goal and objectives. For this reason effective process should be implemented by the bank for designing and selecting its intervention process. The Bank can hire different famous person of banking industry or can take advice from them for improving its employee performances and business system. It needs to make communication system very strong so that employees can communicate effectively among themselves or with management person. This process will help the company to increase its productivity and employee performances. Conclusion The growth and success of a company depends a lot on its employee performance and its business system. Therefore selecting and designing effective intervention process is very vital thing for an organization. Several factors influence the process of selecting intervention. The Company Spring Harbor Bank selected and designed an intervention process for improving its employees’ performance after acquiring Westford Bank. Spring Harbor Bank implemented a model of change management for selecting and designing its intervention process. This process has made several impacts on the bank in developing its business efficiently. It helped to analyze different problems of the company and provided effective solutions for that.
