Globally, education today faces many terrifying challenges that are intimidating the usual techniques. Many modern approaches are mandatory to tackle the consistent impediments which belong to the past and give students an education that is contemporary and based on global economy. Approximately after two decades of promising that computer will revolutionize the system of education, today the connecting technologies and computers are in a better position to provide opportunities to considerably enhance the learning and instructing system. All technologies provided by computer have a profound impact on the education. The personal computers today increase learning, as they take education into a new horizon, enhance the in-class management and school system, and allow for significant changes in the pedagogy, with the idea of individuals to know each other and enrich each other’s personality (Beltran, and Das).
In contemporary times, the argument has arose as to whether the use of computers by adolescents and children is a good idea or not; and whether education by computers is a better way after all or not. It is basically focused at high schools and primary school levels. There are many arguments which reside in favor of the idea of use of computer for educational purposes. Computers are a great way to enhance both the achievement of teachers and students. The literacy about computers should be made part of early education of students or they might lag behind others. The programs of technology give support to business community all around the globe and schools immensely asked for funds for education by computers. Tomorrow’s work force can be competitive if computer skills are prioritized in every educational institute. Additionally, working with computers and the internet allows for important connections with other students and schools, teachers, and many professionals around the globe which increases knowledge of students (Suppes).
Children who use useful computer models ponder about learning and thinking to increase their power as epistemologists and psychologists. Computer is also used as a writing element to give children the power to act like adults and even professionals, in their associations to other intelligent products. Computer also serves as a power to break the barriers between ‘two cultures’ (science and humanities) as it brings the cultural education of different cultures together and it assists them to be more humanistic and have good relations with mathematics. Today computers have become private property of many individuals and will give the power to examine the education patterns. Via the assistance of computers, new horizons for originality and imagination are opened. Computer binds the existing structures in order to resolve the incremental and local measures, and also solves the impediments that exist today in schools (Fouts).
Computer has formed an enduring and passionate love affair with the children all around the world which have helped them to learn more rapidly from it. It materializes a personal and powerful image of world in eyes of beholders. Computer artificial created projects and graphics pose a rosy picture of the future that entails a mega change in the world. Home computing in the recent past has evolved to be a much more education based institution as compared to school computing. One of the greatest advantages of computers is that it gives students a thrill and excitement to look and chase for knowledge they really want to learn. Computer science students create games on computers which develops their social, psychological, and moral sort of thinking. This gives students a sense of power, self, and authority. For example they start to learn what it is like to have authority of their own mind (Suppes).
Today, besides education, parents view computers as a tool for building relationships with their children and thus computer serves as an instrument for building this relationship, rather than an impediment to the family reunion. The learning culture of family enhances the chance of becoming more aware culturally and the ability to work at cultural change to enhance the likelihood of similarities among them. Considering these advantages of computers as a better way for education, they should be learnt as they become vital for an individual in a professional setup. Those students who do not have the authority over computers may not be able to compete with their class fellows efficiently (Fouts).
Computers enhance the achievement of students; they are a great took for professional learning and augment the development of children, mostly their minds. Computers give a free environment for development and learning and promote social reunion. Computer gives an amazing learning environment, for both young people and children. Computers were developed as a challenge for conventional methods of education and values likewise. They introduced a valid vision of our globe. Self control is enhanced which leads towards humanistic teaching and students are now better able to improve their creativity and imagination. Computers also give an individual a rapid learning pace. Computers make the impossible possible by amalgamating computers into our lives wholly and fully (Fouts).
But the opponents of this argument have solid arguments to defy this case. They believe that it is not true that young people and professionals can only succeed in their lives if they learn computers because they will lack behind in future job searches. Today, computers are an easy tool to learn because of online tutorials available and assist in being a powerful entity and person will learn to make use of computers at any arena of life. Computers have become a part and parcel of everyone’s life as enterprises help their employees learn computer skills. Computers are seen as an important tool for learning as they are an attraction for teenagers and children. The ‘video games’ and ‘cosmetics’ effects are the more causes of computer usage than the actual learning effect as the opponents perceive them to be. He sound and animations, picture editing are far more widely used than the education purposes of the computers. But, the use of computer as education is the right and option for the beholder. It depends on the people whether to use it constructively or destructively. If used positively, it can reap great fruits ( Setzer).
