Outline of proposed study to apply for MA Textile Design Aims of the If I am being honest part of the reason was a desire not to leave the college. The other parts of the reason were to learn more skills and further education. I decided to pursue Mater of Arts (MA) in Textile Design after completion of Bachelor of Science (BA) in Textile Design. The MA Textile Design course is a dynamic discipline and would provide unique learning and perspective experiences. It would hone my skills and experience in the textile industry area through support of international designers, academic programs and projects. I am highly motivated in creating textile window pieces that could bring the natural world into interior spaces. I like to have greater recognition / access to the world through global communication revolution. I am thrilled to be studying for the course in an educational institution of repute that should be innovative, multidisciplinary, challenging and positive and should focus on the practice of traditional textile design processes and access to new experimental avenues. Achievement of aims: I wish to achieve my aims during study of MA Textile Design course, like I would cover all those topics / modules for study to acquire special skills and knowledge needed to become one of the new breed of professionals in high demand. In today’s modern and technological time more businesses need their executers / managers to be advance thinking, innovative and entrepreneurial and can implement design, marketing and technology successfully. Proposed topics / modules for study could include designing research and its implementation, designing of product including CAD, production and targets, visual communication, innovation and development, textile materials and technology, prediction and customer behavior, brand design and its marketing, digital and traditional photography, 2D/3D design etc. Together with core topics / modules, additional topics like marketing strategy including direct marketing, sales promotion and communications, advertising, internet marketing, media and sponsorship policy, international business, etc. can be chosen for study. I like to become creative, gain analytical and reflective skills and knowledge of global business including marketing, branding etc. through combination of theoretical and practical approaches. I like to involve for investigation of latest materials and technological developments and would acquire critical information needed for future planning in the textile and fashion world. Career opportunities: The course is designed to develop the skills and knowledge needed to become forward-looking, innovative and a dynamic textile entrepreneur to promote the textile business in world market. It would explore diverse range of opportunities for self-employed or employment in prestigious national and international organizations. Opportunities can include consultant designer, CEO / Director of an organization, production manager / consultant, corporate / interior / domestic / fashion consultant, innovation consultant for textile materials, upholstery, soft furnishing, fashion textiles / clothing, fabric consultant, access to press / media coverage, domestic and international exhibitions etc. Teaching, research or writing could be the other options. Brand is considered as one of the key factors for any organization to do business but brand has now become a success symbol of an organization. Popularity of brand is not achieved overnight by creating a logo or symbol but can be achieved through following of business ethics and good management, eminent experiences, technological innovations and a lot of customer’s trust. Brand design catches the eyes of the customers and drive towards the organization. Creative design of logo therefore becomes more important. Designer or consultant for creative design of brand logo or brand marketing could be other option for the employment. My past professional experience: Besides, Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Textile Design, I have: 1. Competency in computer aided design (CAD), drawing ability and adequate knowledge and interest in Textile Design: I made few projects both within and outside the school / college which are good presentations for CAD for combination of drawing and design as well as use of software for project development and / or end use. The design demonstrates creative process with 2D design for pattern, object, color, coordination etc. 2. Experience in the field of textiles and design: I created variety of designs for knitted and woven fabrics that demonstrates for my understanding for design techniques and materials. 3. Professional practical experience of textile design: I attended several workshops, seminars, exhibitions, events etc that enhanced my professional practical experience to know in deep about the designs in textile industry, the work of designers and importance for attending these programs for creation of new designs, techniques etc. Reasons to choose the college: The textile world today needs dynamic textile personnel who can propose and innovate through strategic thought, leadership and personal vision. The college is a place where I can cultivate my ideas and put them into practice to meet the challenges in the textile industry. I would enjoy the facilities of learning process in the college through combination of lectures, seminars including from guest or visiting teachers, demonstrations and practical that is supported by virtual / web-based learning. The course structure of the college for full-time study is very much advantageous to me and I am committed to abide by all syllabus, rules and regulations in respect of course structure and credits to complete the course in higher grade. The design center of the college is excellent and equipped with world class facilities that would provide me wide range of opportunities to undertake creativity experiments for traditional and digital technologies, processes and materials. The teaching staff of the college is highly educated and experienced in different areas of the textile. I would explore the opportunities / ways available about my concern for funding the course at the college upon admission. I would learn the unique culture and would adjust in the environment of the college. Compliance of admission requirements: I feel that I comply all admission requirements for the full-time course of the college in respect of completion of undergraduate degree within design and have relevant design portfolio ready for work that explores past professional experience / learning and processes. I am submitting this proposal that outlines about my aims, achievement of these aims and career opportunities through the course as well as my past professional experience in short for consideration for admission in the course. Besides I do have strong potential ability like understanding of the nature of the course being opted and reasons for choosing it, communication skills, knowledge / awareness of design in textile together with related fields, technique for presentation and discussions of the projects and proposals, motivation and commitment etc. Sources: 1.
