Part 3 EssayC.

I had the opportunity to work as a leader of the community group that collected financial aid for the victims of a natural disaster. When I was asked to lead the group, I was totally in the dark with regard to the way in which I could motivate and lead them. However, after a dedicated effort at studying the occurrence and aftereffects of the natural disaster, it convinced me that I had to try my level’s best to convince my group of the humanitarian aspect involved in it. I realized that for any project that aimed at the relief of the victims of a specific situation, the best incentive for a group to progress in the work is to establish a good rapport with the target group.

I planned and led a tour to the area where the victims were kept and encouraged my group to interact with them. After this experience, there was no one in the group who had ay doubt regarding the necessity to work towards their betterment. They volunteered to fit into any pattern of work I suggested. To ensure that every one in the group felt aware of their usefulness in the project, I split the group into very small clusters and assigned them specific duties like collecting data, assessing the amount of work to be carried out in a specific time span, collecting the necessary aids, distributing them and leading public awareness programmes that made sure that more people came forward with personal help.

Though I was a lot apprehensive in the beginning of my leadership qualities and the immense demand the situation called for, the systematic organization and execution of the work turned out to succeed on its own and did exceed our own expectations in bringing relief, peace and contentment for many victims.
