Textbook Responses Task Textbook Responses Chapter One The first chapter speaks about differentiation while the second chapter talks about the mindset of an individual, as well as how these two aspects have a significant effect to the learning capabilities of an individual student. Differentiation refers to the research-based perspective outlining that students engage more actively with learning, as well as learn more robustly when the teachers proactively plan with their similarities and their differences in mind.

This enables the teachers to engage personally with each student and as such, meet all their personal needs for academic development. Differentiation enables a teacher to deal with the specific interests of each individual student by applying an effective model of academic intervention to their learning procedure. This will enable the teacher teach much easily, as well as enable the learner grasp what he or she is being taught much faster. This is unlike a blanket application of the same process or procedure of learning to all the students with an expectation that they will grasp the learning curve with the same speed.

This reading supports my professional skills, knowledge, as well as understanding as a practicing teacher. As I embark in every class to teach, I do not consider all students in my classroom to be in the same category. This is because I am cognizant of the fact that some students are fast learners whilst others are slow learners. On the other hand, some students are geniuses; others are average, while others are blunt stupid. However, all these students need an education. it is my duty to teach them all to understand and gain some valuable knowledge for their future endeavors as a teacher.

Consequently, I apply the differentiation concept in my teaching approach to each individual student in order to improve his or her learning experience. The first chapter provokes a general question to the way learning occurs in classrooms. Some students fail because of the lack of application of an appropriate differentiation mechanism by their teachers during learning (Souse & Tomlinson, 2011).Chapter TwoOn the other hand, mindset refers to the assumptions, expectations, as well as beliefs that provide guidance to our behaviors as well as our interactions with others.

As such, the mindset of an individual determines his or her learning capabilities. On the other hand, the mindset adopted by the individual learner, as well as the teacher equally influences greatly the learning process in a classroom setting. A positive mindset about a given learning procedure or process enables quick and effective learning, as well as understanding on the part of the student, and easy teaching on the part of the teacher. However, a negative mindset destroys the entire learning process as it blocks an individual student from learning appropriately.

In addition, the mindset concept also enables me to approach each case positively.Mindset in a teaching career determines the attitude, which a student or a teacher takes to class. As such, being a teacher requires me to always have a positive mindset about every student, especially on his or her academic capabilities and learning development. This enables me to make them successful in every academic aspect while undertaking their lessons. I should not judge a student because he or she is a poor performer, or a bright performer, that they will fail or succeed respectively.

However, I need to take a positive approach towards every student with a cognizant mindset that all students have the capability of learning a becoming successful, despite their levels of IQ, or any other parameters of brain comparisons.On the other hand, others fail because of developing a negative mindset to their learning process. However, it is imperative to note that these two aspects have a significant impact to the classroom learning of students (Souse & Tomlinson, 2011).ReferencesSouse, D.
