I would like to concur with Richard Rothstein for claiming that the children for the European immigrants performed better than those of the Africans. This was caused by lots of factors which essentially favored them as compared to their black counterparts. However, it does not mean that they were lesser brilliant.
There were certain education factors in the USA that prevented or minimized the good academic performance of the immigrant children. Many immigrant children, both from Pulaski County Special School District, Arkansas and the whole country, experienced language barriers in school. These children faced problems when communicating with their teachers or fellow students. They also majorly live in neighborhoods which were isolated linguistically; hence they developed weak command of the English language.

...seeking for adult attention.   At the beginning of the school year, Cristina did not show much response to her new class friends, but as the year progressed, she has become much more attentive to their sounds and movement. She is particularly interested in one of her class friend who is very vocal. When the friend sat near her during leisure time she would turn her head towards her particularly when the friend made any physical contact with her, or allowed her to hold her hand and move gently in a tune of “row, row your boat” song and then smile. She certainly takes note of her mobile friends especially those in yellow clothes when they are playing near her. However, she is most...

...of the paper discuss how an asset price bubble will start to form because once a bubble bursts, it results into a recession and a credit crunch. The last part discusses how the central bank deals with it and how people can cope with it. Because of the credit crunch, it is now harder for ordinary people to obtain a mortgage (Elliott, Teather & Treanor, 2010:1). Although interest rates are still relatively nominally low, the real cost affects prospective first-time home buyers who are charged a higher premium for housing rates due to their lack of large deposits for mortgages (Collinson, 2010:1). Conclusion The credit crunch today showed those who already owned their homes had houses being foreclosed or repossessed since...

Progress of Spirit over Time

...Progress of Spirit over Time: Art Scene in L.A. “Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. 1945 – 1980” exhibits have been running over 2 months now and by far, I believe a couple more exhibits are on their way still. Viewing the website is helpful for those who are interested to see what is currently going on in the L.A. Art scene. Although blogs are interestingly helpful to get a hint of how everything is going, viewing the exhibits personally is a totally different experience! However, I do know for a fact that it is easy to get lost to a number of information about these exhibits. For more details, you can visit the official website: http://www.pacificstandardtime.org/exhibitions. It feels...

1920s - time of sustained economic progress

...(school) 1920s The 1920s marks a time of sustained economic progress. It is also considered a time of social, cultural, and economic diversity and prosperity. After the First World War, a sense of normalcy in world politics and other concerns was more or less attained. Music, art, and the modern woman emerged from the rubble of the war and the large scale use of automobiles, telephones, electricity, and industrial growth was seen with greater demands among consumers experiencing major developments in their lifestyle and culture. Although this picture of America presented a favorable image of life for Americans, others believed that it also presented a picture of an...

...of a Myth”) It then becomes very obvious to the reader that Mr. Sale's father was a pioneer environmentalist of his time. Even later on in his life he tried to protect the environment by influencing his son to consider the consequences of his progress related actions on the planet. Just like generations before him, the senior Mr. Sale believed that the younger generation was growing up stupid and without a care in the world, specially about the planet they live in. But what if it was actually the other way around? Maybe the father was only afraid because the cars gave the users more independence than ever before and allowed a whole new generation of Americans to create a totally new lifestyle far removed...

Assassinations to Sustain Governments

...Assassinations to Sustain Governments The goal of the purge in 1938 was to eliminate the enemies of Stalin and to establish a solid soviet society. In a sensational series of trials, the potential enemies of Stalin and the exponents of Bolshevik party were executed. Stalin’s proceedings to his opponents were treacherous, for his flair for manipulating situation is evident from the execution of seventeen Ukraine soviet ministers. Stalin’s efforts were to grab and consolidate his own power ruthlessly suppressing whoever came his way. If the purge would not have taken place, his government could not have come into power. Begin writing your funeral

... 4 December My Funeral For my funeral, I do not want people to sit around and be sad. I want people to laugh, be happy and celebrate my life. Though I know for some people, it is hard for the purposes of offering closure, but I wish to be cremated. I do not want people standing over me critiquing how good I look while I lie in a coffin. Also, some of my favorite possessions and anything that incorporates my interests should also be in the funeral home. By my urn will be one large recent photograph of me. I want people to be able to write notes to my family and post them in a box about what their favorite memory... 4 December My...
