ment of Career Objectives ment of Career Objectives Introduction In my early years in high school, I did discover a truth which proved to be part of me, that there exists no limits for any dream, unless it becomes my own choice to impose such limits upon me. Bearing in mind that every individual is unique in his or her own way in terms of talents, abilities and gifts, I would therefore express no fear outlining some of these that I do possess. They include; my strong drive and continued determination of giving something long term back to the society in which I was raised. My view of education is not only on the basis of instruments that will prepare me for recreation and employment, but also to a greater extend to modeling the kind of feature that will enable me become a self-sufficient and positively motivated to facing life circumstances. This actually among other issues yet to address are my key motivators to joining graduate school since I believe that without it, such dreams are guaranteed to fade away. Being a talented Mathematics author and teacher, and with my past area of study which is bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, I have no doubts of any sort of difficulty, which might hinder me from doing the right thing required by the institution concerned here. Imagine both of your parents succumbing to an illness after a fatal electric shock after a fault in the connection and most probably at the time when you need the most? You would agree with me that it is really painful. In addition the greatest loss one could bear that easily. After sometime, I managed to get a humble well-wisher who then gave me all the sufficient support I ever needed. Despite his material support, I also benefited much greatly from the lots of advices he did grant unto me. One of his many advices I could not separate with my entire life is: ‘It doesn’t matter what might come along your path in struggling to realize your dream, but what really matters most is that you remain focused that you are achieving your dream. And never give up, since it is at that point that you are almost giving up that your dream comes true.’ These are very strong motivational words of all times that I do apply in my life with an additive perspective that nothing is really impossible, unless you don’t keep on trying. Some time back when I was growing up, I made a visit to my local home and the best I could get were very dark roads, homes that lacked any entertainment as there was no any power supply that could facilitate this. When at night it became very unsafe to walk around and most of the transaction would be cut short. This actually was the foundation of motive towards becoming an Electrical Engineer. Nevertheless, I did make a visit to the ‘best’ school in my village and what I saw was even much worse. Classrooms that were so dark during the night and favored no learning process in such a time. To me this articulated to the poor performance and poor results that the school was constantly getting. This really inspired me to becoming a great mathematician of all times and giving back to the society my knowledge. These actually are what motivated me toward this field, the field of Masters in Engineering. My career goals are becoming competitive and fully-skilled, besides becoming a prominent Mathematician with adequate skills and abilities to enforce such mathematics skills to learners through books and lectures. This basically would imply giving back to the community through promoting rural electrification alongside giving back to the youths of this country in terms of teaching and lecturing them on mathematical concepts and ideas. I got a vision of a future where people fail to accomplish their goals simply because they are not provided with necessary resources, majorly: education or knowledge, correct advice and correct tangible materials at the right time. In other words, my ideal vision I got for the future is a comfortable, well focused and educationally- empowered, result oriented society. In addition to the above scenarios, my guardian was always one of the major motivators to my desire to pursue higher education. He made it clear to me that education was the only key and power to entirely new world of new opportunities as well as the driver towards achieving my early dreams. He actually told me to go for it: education! And in deed I went for it and I am still on it. Actually, the status of the school children in my village, and the lack of a given source of energy to my village were good insight that propelled me further to adequately developing my career. Through classes, personal reading and a number of research, discussions with successful individuals already in the same field and little work experiences I willingly and initiatively underwent through, I believe that I have sufficient power to go. These efforts together with my passion for the field has really helped elevate my GPA from a mere average to an excellent one due to outstanding performance pattern in the specific units constituting the course. This has actually made me move up the ladder of performance. Besides just focusing much in my areas of specializations which are triggered by my dreams, I also possess some essential skill in other areas. For instance, communication skills, which I actually learned on realizing my passion for advising the members in the society who have lost hope and sense of direction. More so, to me and the society, possessing the skill was really important and it was the best alternative I had to take. With this skill, I worked with a community-based organization known as ‘Sharing Your Mind Gives You More Hopes to See Tomorrow,’ whose main role was to restore hopes to those who have lost hope in life due to life problems and preventing them from giving up to trying any further. Currently, I am working on a number of projects and specifically proud of all the stakeholders who made me accomplish the previous projects and research, which were successful. These projects include: the research based on best possible ways to give electricity to areas that are far from the main source of the electric power line. The research was based on the fact that area that area far from the main power line could end up spending a lot of money in the process. This was enough reason to derail the entire process. In addition, the research will also base on various mathematical concepts, for instance probability, statistics, and geometrical constructions, which among other relevant topics have combined into a book. Sometimes I spend time revising the book and making attempts of publishing it. Despite the challenges at times I encounter as a result of my high academic standards, my volunteer tasks, my love for mathematics and my part-time jobs, my firm in force that achieving my dreams is the limit and my belief to succeed has kept me on my tore. My work with the Rural Electrification Scheme as an assistant field engineer made me see vividly what it entails to be a good engineer by practice. Furthermore, the skills and virtues I learned from my experience as a Mathematics teacher at high school level was also motivational and really contributed to my growth as an individual I desired to become. Sharing with the students their feelings, emotions and even their minds made me understand them, their desires and what I as an individual teacher should actually give them. This accompanied with the leadership as an assistant patron of the Sigma Mathematics Club gave me a lot of growth content I wanted to help me remain focused on my dream and ensure that I achieve it. I therefore close it with much vigor, to quote what was spoken by one great Ursula Le Guin that, “it is noble to have a termination to journey towards, but what matters in the end is the journey.” This sounds relevant to me since I have learned that nobody except oneself can resist one from achieving his dreams and that each and every individual is potentially able to contribute his or her talent and abilities with the world.
