Lecturer: Career Plan & an Annotated CV Career Plan Background Information Human resource department being a significant activityin many organizations, there is a need for advancing HR management skills vital for achieving future ambitions of becoming a director in the HR department in a company. HR department is a fundamental field in any organization and having undertaken a course in human resource management, there are a lot to be done within this department. Although, HR department is a competitive field, employing effective management skills are vital for achieving organizational success. However, my dream and interests throughout my life is to become a director in HR department in any organization in order to achieve my future goals. I am an oversea student in Australia studying masters in human resource management. Therefore, after my studies, I am planning to join a HR department and work as a director in order to fulfill my future goals. Thus, my career aim is to move into a position of being a director with a higher level of responsibility for strategic planning and determine the direction of organization programs, policies and varied initiatives. Short-term Objectives At the end of my professional career, I want to achieve my future ambitions of becoming a director in the HR department in one of the companies in China. Therefore, my short-term objectives include; First, I will relocate in China, find the job immediately and work as a director in the HR department in one of the clothes manufacturing companies, in China. I want to be recognized as someone who has significant skills and positive influences in the lives of people within the company that I am associated with. I know it is not easy because a director has to work tirelessly in order to meet the demanding needs of the company; thus, I will work hard in order to get good recognition. Therefore, I am willing to put forth my necessary efforts and I know I will make it. Prior to the inspiration from one of my lecturers that hard work pays, I know through my hard work, I will create organizational change. This is because success is achieved by not being lazy but rather through hard work and commitment. Long-term Objectives My long-term objectives include; First, I intend to approach every situation with a positive attitude, lots of enthusiasm and a desire to create difference in the HR department in the company that I will work. I know the university had prepared me for this, but I will also put more efforts in order to accomplish my objectives effective. Therefore, I will continue to learn in order to develop new skills vital as I progress; hence creating organizational change. Secondly, I want to become independence and perform my duties effectively through dedicating my time to valued principles. Being independence will enable me to have enough freedom of thought and action effective for improving my performance level. Lastly, I intend to improve my leadership skills by becoming influential and acting as a role model to the followers; thus improving the organizational performance level. Current Place I am currently an oversea student in Australia studying masters in human resource management. I am doing masters of business in HR resource management at the University of Technology Sydney. I want to be a director in the HR department in one of clothes companies in China because I believe that there are many opportunities provided in this department. I feel that to a larger extent that I possess effective skills necessary for qualifying to be a director in this company. First, I have creative skills that I believe will make me a competitive director in the organization. Secondly, I have effective communication and significant learning skills vital for improving the organizational performance level. Moreover, I speak Chinese and English; hence, these are crucial because they will solve language barrier and cultural prejudice. Lastly, my course objectives are to deliver quality services and offer exemplary services; hence, my biggest goal is to make customers happy since only if they are satisfied, then I will also benefit from my work. Where I will Be Upon graduation, I will immediately move to China, find a job and join a human resource department. This will enable me to learn more and expose my broad management skills in business companies. Thus, I will work as a director in the human resource department in any of the companies in China; thus, in this way; I will build a strong foundation of my knowledge and education experience. Human resource management is a valuable job that requires determination and employing effective skills in order to achieve the desired objectives of the company. Therefore, being a director, I will work hard and employ the skills, as well as, my experience that I have gained from my HR management studies in order to be successful. The skills that I have gained include interpersonal skills, listening skills, critical thinking skills, effective decision making and leadership skills. These are effective because they will enable me to become successful in my career; thus improving the organizational performance level of the organization. Additionally, after completing my studies, I will start working in one of the clothes manufacturing companies in China as a director in the human resource department. I will benefit the company in a multiple ways. This is because of the experience that I have gained during my studies and also the work experience achieved from the companies that I had already worked with. I will benefit the company because I have gained effective communication skills; thus, I will communicate effectively across the organization and direct the followers in a manner that will enable them to improve the organizational performance. Hargie, David and Dennis (93) argue that effective communication skills in an organization are vital because it will contribute to higher performance level. Effective communication is the key to less conflicts and it enables employees to understand the demanding needs of the company; thus striving hard to achieve the organizational objectives effectively. The authors further argues that HR managers should employ arrange of key communication skills, leadership styles and strategies vital for improving the performance level of the organization. How I Will Get There? My major goal is to become a director in the HR department in one of clothes companies in China because I believe that there are many opportunities provided there. This sector is a reasonable area of working because the company offers varied opportunities and I will be able to maximize my chances because HR department excites me. Therefore, I will approach every situation with a positive attitude with a desire to create difference in the HR department in the company. This is through working hard in order to overcome challenges on my way by seeking effective opportunities in order to put my ability to the test. Another way I will reach my goals is to become influential by improving leadership skills. Achieving effective leadership skills is essential; thus, one should be determined to achieve the demanding needs of employees through employing effective leadership skills. My duty is to improve my team managing skills, as well as, utilize training programs in order to increase communication, as well as, management skills. I have learnt that effective teamwork is the key success towards successful organizational performance. Therefore, I will work and encourage employees to work as a team because this contributes to increased performance level; thus enabling the company to increase revenues. Fostering effective teamwork is one way of creating a work culture, which values collaboration. This is because, I learnt that in a teamwork environment, labor force understandings and planning together, making vital decisions and taking significant actions, contribute to organizational change. I will ensure that the HR department value diverse people from varied cultural background and experience because culture can impact organizational performance in case it is not taken into considerations effectively. Moreover, providing training programs to employees is one way that creates organizational value. This is because it enables workforce or employees to improve varied skills including communication and many other significant skills; thus improving the organizational performance in the company. When I Will Get There Once I have selected the job of being a director and implemented my objectives, I will maximize my chances, as well as, opportunities to reach my dreams. First, I will reach my goals by identifying the selection criteria of the job that I am aiming to perform. This is through searching the newspapers, company websites, social media services and any advertisement posted on the Internet about the similar posts. I can also utilize professional employment agencies and get advice from career mentors. This is crucial because it will enable me to achieve my career goals successful; hence attain my future dreams of being a director in the HR department.
