The new language of economic competitiveness in education has changed to math and science and learning institutions have positioned themselves to enhance their ability to create high end innovations that drive jobs termed as high-wage and improving the life of the affected citizens. P-20 councils in numerous areas are focusing on improving the student performance while expanding the pool of those engaging in STEM or Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (Missouri P-20 Council, 2009). The councils also go ahead to highlight the significance of STEM associated jobs and industries in enhancing their global competitiveness and innovation. To become even more fruitful P-20 councils focus on ensuring that there are coherent system that can develop even more coherent P-20 education on different education levels in order to ensure that all students are well prepared for the next level
In my case, innovation comes with the fact that I have a public administration and experience and human development and leadership competencies coupled with my love for details (Missouri P-20 Council, 2009). As a public administrator, I can confidently analyze problems, develop and implement policies that affect how the government makes decisions. This is crucial as it involves critically analyzing complex issues and developing policies that result to proper government functioning. Human development and leadership course has equipped me with intellectual vitality which has prepared me as a socially conscious leader with vision, knowledge and skills needed to provide relevant leadership services.
