...on factors within the organization which impacted economic activity. Coasian theory later became the foundation for what is today called internalization theory, one of the most significant theories to emerge in the study of multinational enterprises (Rugman & Verbecke, 2008). This theory suggests that foreign production and sales of a multinational business take place in response to imperfections in the goods and services markets. Buckley and Casson (1976) established the modern conception of this theory by suggesting three premises: 1) firms maximize profit in a world of imperfect markets, 2) the imperfect nature of the markets for intermediate products motivates firms to bypass them by creating internal markets, and...

...?DQ1 I agree with you about the importance of the financial ments. The financial ments are prepared in a standardized format in order to create consistency within the statements. The statement of different corporations will have different numbers, but the same basic format. The classified balance sheet is prepared in order to let the users distinguish among the different accounts. The statement of cash flow is very important as well. The main components of the statement of cash flow are operating, financing, and investing activities (Weygand & Kieso, Kimmel, 2003). You mentioned that the annual report is the most important report prepared by corporations for the shareholders and other stakeholders. I agree that the annual report... I agree...

Comment to the on the following: Here are the 5-steps of buyer decision process I went through when making a decision to opt for UoN as my preferred course provider:   Need Recognition: I found I need to achieve a post-graduate degree before I am completely satisfied with my studies. I have stopped studying for a long time and this has been at the back of my head.  The thought of juggling full-time job (demanding) and other committments was somewhat nerve-wrecking if I can eventually complete the course.   Information Search: I did my research mostly on the Internet (MBA guide, Universities, OPEN Learning etc) and also discussed with my employer and colleagues. I applied to 2 universities and received confirmation for...

DQ2 When a company is using the NVP value method a firm should only accept a project if the project has a NPV above cero. In your response I believe you mentioned that a company could do badly irrelevant of the NPV being above cero. Well this could happen because the NPV analysis is limited to the project that the analysis is evaluating. If a firm has financial troubles that existed irrelevant of the results associated with the NPV of a project then a firm could go down under. The NPV analysis is not a tool that can be used...

...DQ1) I like your opinion and the fact that you work in the industry, but I differ to your answer in regards to giving away the drug to people cannot afford to buy it. This practice would be discriminatory against other patients that are poor, but are using their money to purchase a better medical that covers their cost. The government is responsible for finding a way to pay for the expenses of those uninsured people. Public companies are in the business to make money, not to become a socialist regime. In the United States of America there are over 50 million uninsured people. The federal government should create a universal health plan that provided service to all 310 million Americans. ...Essay Thanksgiving The thesis of this text is that children constitute a different culture than adults, and are treated as subordinate by having to sit at a separate table during thanksgiving, and other important meals. The essay is divided into paragraphs which begin with an introduction of why adults think a kid’s table is necessary – things like messiness, children’s talk and so on, then ends with an explanation as to why this is not a good enough reason to support dividing the group in that way. This organization as effective because it refuted each point as the essay progressed without having to constantly backtrack to places much earlier in the essay. All points were on target as to the thesis, but a bit more explanation...

...Transactions Transactions Response to Characteristics that Make Transactions Possible The two characteristics you have d resonate well with most people’s views on the characteristics of a transaction. Therefore, I agree with you that one characteristic - and perhaps the most basic - of a transaction is a situation whereby two or more people come together to manage or conduct business, which is the most important characteristic in my opinion since it is the foundation of a transaction. I also agree with you that a trading agreement is another characteristic that makes transactions possible. However to add to your argument, a trading agreement forms a basis on how the parties in the transaction will engage, which underlines...

... Bargaining Bargaining entails actively persuading a seller to lower his initial price offer. The buyer negotiates to obtain a price that is favorable to him (Shell, 2006). The situation below explains how access to market related information affects the outcomes of a transaction. A situation may occur where a seller values a vehicle at $200,000, but the buyer is only willing to pay $150,000. A surplus of $50,000 exists to be shared by the parties. The presented gains from persuasions may be hard to quantify. The two parties have differed interest as the buyer wishes to acquire the car at the least price possible while the seller wants to trade at the highest price. The buyer and the seller have to make negotiations to a point... Bargaining...
