Doctorate Program in Special Education - Admission/Application Essay Example

Admission essay for a Doctorate Program in Special Education As a child, I felt a sense of compassion for children with disabilities. Personally, I lived with a cousin that had difficulties in hearing and he did not enjoy his childhood very much. This was a turning point in my life as I strove to make him enjoy his life just like any normal person. This passion grew over the years and I decided to volunteer to teach deaf people for over 11 years. Additionally, I undertook an undergraduate degree in special education to be able to get further education to help more students .

After I attained my degree, I was able to lecture students with disability for one year in the department of special education at Aljouf University in Saudi Arabia. My tenacity to seek this Doctorate Degree in Special Education is to expand my theory and research methods as it pertains to this study. I especially want to fine tune my research skills as I realize that the importance of gaining research skills is imperative to becoming a proficient teacher in special education. This course will help me in developing intellectual self actualization to help me deliver services very well to the student with disability.

My hard work and decisive character has helped me to to improve my knowledge in quantitative research thus developing a clear and concise understanding of the profession. If given the opportunity to join the Doctorate program in this university, I will endeavor to make a difference in how the students with disabilities are educated in order to make them develop their full potential in life.
