Personal Statement
I was born in October 1995 in India in the continent of Asia. My nuclear family relocated to the United States in July 2002. Initially, I missed my friends, grandparents and other relatives who remained in India and I still felt attached to my native land since. For some time, I felt a terrible yearning to see the rest of my family back in India, but this yearning reduced over time. I joined second grade in the US. The language, culture, people and climate was relatively different from what I had been used to in India. However, with time, I grew accustomed to the climate, language and culture; I found the entire learning process considerably refreshing and enchanting since I got a chance to visit different places in the US and learnt about different cultures of different regions in the US.
I have always been charmed by advancements in technology, which have facilitated progress in terms of the development of electronics. My interest in electronics began when I received a Gamebuoy gift from my parents. Since then, my desire to learn more about anything concerning electronics has grown in leaps and bounds. I believe I am profoundly suitable to study electronics since challenges, which a normal domain of the electronics world, typically bring out the best in my abilities. I relish the opportunity to think creatively and imaginatively and take immense pleasure in learning the intricacies of how electronics function. Since my childhood, I have been satisfied with my level of intelligence and constantly establish new goals and objectives to help stretch my mind and imagination in a better manner than previously. I always allow my experiences to shape my thoughts, while simultaneously holding on firmly to my convictions and what I have learned in the past. This continues to be my way of life. In order to supplement my interest in electronics, I took quite a number of computer courses in the high school curriculum over the years. In addition to my enhanced knowledge of computer, I took an English 4 course during which I grew exceedingly passionate regarding photography, as well as video editing.
In my spare time, I love playing video games, watching quizzes and shows on technology gadgets, discovery channels and science. These games and shows enable me keep up with the latest trends in the electronics world, as well as appreciate the latest and greatest technologies and gadgets from across the globe. When I first came to the US, I loved listening to classic rock, which played a pivotal role in enhancing my knowledge of the English language. Some of my most favorite bands are Eric Clapton, Tears for Fears, Def Leppard, Eric Johnson and Styx. In addition to my academic interest in electronics and technology, I also engage in numerous extracurricular activities. I am a member of the school’s computer and environmental clubs. The experiences acquired in these clubs taught me to develop my skills in utilizing my own innovation in developing electronics. I am exceedingly interested in community service through which I believe I can make a positive impact on the world. My interest in robotics, electronics and video and computer games has pushed me to choose to enter the computer engineering profession. I desire to excel in this field and maximize my knowledge of electronics.

Personal Effectiveness

One of the most difficult prospects is identifying where your strengths lie and in which new role you would be good at. There are hundreds of skills that you developed over time, but it is even more challenging to combine which tasks you are good at and which ones you enjoy the most. The reconciliation of both will determine your strengths. I am trying to identify my weaknesses and strengths all the time in order to make the most of my career opportunities. Besides, I realize that it is easier to focus on and develop your strengths than trying to eliminate weaknesses. Every time I try to engage in a new activity, I am always naturally worried that I won't have the necessary skills for a new activity or responsibility.

Implications for Personal Investment

The assumption of perfect rationality can be rebutted by the fact that rationality is not the sole driver of human behaviour. On the contrary, our behaviour is contingent upon emotions such as love, fear, pain, and pleasure etc. Human beings only use their intellectual power to achieve or avoid these emotional outcomes (Pompian 2006). Secondly, the assumption of self-interested is also not deemed to be practical because many sociological studies have shown that people are not always self-interested. Had this been the case, then there would not have been a single philanthropist in the world, even people would have avoided negative behaviour such as suicide and alcoholism. The final assumption of perfect information also does not ho...

Finally, a milestone in this journey through life is the recent migration to the United States to complete my higher education with Chemistry as my major in Evergreen Valley College, San Jose, California.

Personal Management Framework

The subsequent framework would engender a theoretically determined structure of aims thus bringing up and addressing related issues.

Management functions - planning, leading, organizing and controlling or coordinating – have both a theoretical and conceptual determination and their functional level parameters include such organizational goal-related outcomes (Cleland & Gareis, 2006). For instance, the following process diagram of a personal management framework shows the managerial functions can be more meaningful in an individualized organizational context where the manger’s own capabilities and skills are brought into sharp focus in comparison with the daily and routine functions.

A function...

Personal Choice: A Comparative Analysis

Published in 1915, the poem’s elements of individual freedom and choice owe much to the nation’s foundational thought that can be traced from Thomas Jefferson to the very core of Ralph Waldo Emerson and can even be seen to embody a European existentialistic spirit. Today, Frost’s poem represents us all, whenever we face the diverging paths in our own lives.

The essential symbolism behind The Road Not Taken is the freedom of choice. Frost advances this metaphor by comparing the decision-making process to, “Two roads diverged(ing) in a yellow wood.” It’s notable that Frost uses the ‘roads’ for his symbolic task over the perhaps more clichéd choice of ‘paths&rsqu...

The Elliott Controversy: Personal Rifts in the Seventh Cavalry

An attack plan was devised that would surprise the Indians in their most vulnerable state—during winter at early dawn in which the enemies were still asleep. It was, in fact, a complete surprise which resulted in the ‘massacre’ of the villagersIndeed, the battle was regarded to be the only notable clash during the 1868-69 winter campaign.

The battle has received much criticism because of two important issues—the genocidal nature of the attack and the major lapse of judgment by their commander: the abandonment of Major Elliott. It is, however, the death of Major Elliott and his troops at the Battle of Washita which became the most controversial, at least within the regiment itself. It caused deep...

The Understandability of Financial Statements

An accounting conceptual framework has been defined by AT Foulks Lynch as a “coherent system of interrelated objectives and fundamentals that should lead to consistent standards that prescribe the nature, function, and limits of financial accounting and financial statements.” (Christopher J Pyke, page 1)i
In 1989 IASB published its framework for the preparation and presentation of financial statements. The framework is not a standard. However, IAS 1 (Presentation of Financial Statements) converted many ideas of the framework as instructions for entities. The framework of IASB suggests that fair presentation of financial statements may also be stated as providing a ‘true and fair view’. These are Europe...

Teleportation is the process of disintegrating the body to make a copy of a person in another place say, for example, Jupiter as a means of travel. In the teleportation experiment, Parfit demonstrated the problem of teleportation when the machine malfunctioned. The machine was not able to destroy the original body and yet a copy was already sent to Mars. So the problem arises of determining who is the real you? This phenomenon of teleportation is bad because it is problematic. It is problematic not only in the sense that the machine malfunctioned that there became two individuals because the original was not destroyed. It is mind-boggling, but we cannot cease to wonder how does the copy thinks? About himself, the universe around h...

Another challenge I faced was time management. I had limited time to study since I worked on a full-time basis. My poor time management skills worsened the matter for me. Indeed, this made me fail in my first presentation and essay despite starting work on it early enough. I had reserved two hours every day for my essay, as opposed to waiting until the last night before the presentation when I would be forced to work on it in a hurry. I also reserved time for my work-related tasks as well as relaxation in order to avoid exhaustion and boredom. However, I still failed. Still, on time management, I found it difficult to balance my time so as to have adequate time for each assignment. This could cause me to take up many tasks at the...
