The Making of Education Policies - Essay Example

The making of education policies and their implementation can be regarded as an essential part of the improvement of the education system. The state governors should not have more powers over the education system since, if they have more powers over education, the making and implementation of education policies will be politicized (Robelen, par. 2). The governors would influence the implementation of the education policies by having enormous powers over education. This stems from the fact that the governors will always select individuals of their choice in managing the education policies.

This would politicize the entire education system since the appointed education leaders have to act in favor of the governor’s preference, but not in accordance with the people’s desire. I agree that governors are probably correct when they say that individuals look at them as the leaders of a state’s education system. I have an opinion that decision making in education must be depoliticized. De-politicization of decision making in education helps in the implementation of education policies by considering nonpolitical influence, which develops the education system.
