Parenting Education Introduction: It is a well known fact the world over that the parents are very aloof of their kids’ activities and undertakings. When these kids are away from their homes, they often indulge in things which are unbecoming of them. Most of the times, their parents are unwary of the exact happenings which are going about within their folds. This is a very unfortunate aspect, and one that demands a great deal of attention by the people who make decisions with regards to these kids and their interactions with their parents. The kids of today have surpassed their respective age brackets as they have looked at doing things which are not appropriate with them. They must be told at the initial phase of their lives that a little mischief is always permissible but doing this in an all-out manner is not a very acceptable thing. This paper takes a keen look at the critical standpoint of the relationships that exist within the parents and the kids’ spheres. It also studies the basis of the parents being at the helm of complete control and exerting their influence in nearly all the kids’ activities and undertakings. One sees this relationship between the parents and the kids in such a way that allows for their positive association with one another. However it is when the kids stop realizing that they are answerable to their parents that the whole problem creeps into the related domains. This is one of the most important aspects that one should understand before delving deep into the study basis of associations between the parents and their kids. The parents are unaware of the new ways and means through which their kids are bent upon deceiving them (Levine 2007). They are also unknowing the realms that their kids are outsmarting them in terms of technological prowess and related technical details that they are learning by the day. The ignorance therefore is very detrimental towards the cause of raising kids on a solid footing, as the repercussions are immensely hazardous for the parents as well as their kids. The parents might not live long enough to see their kids getting to good ages but what they can do is to inculcate a sense of sound developmental regime which will ask of them to remain loyal and honest with their deeds. This will help them in meeting the issues in a head on manner, as well as tackle the grey areas which have sprung up with the passage of time. There is a need to address such problems on a proactive basis as one finds that parents and kids should not have a disconnected feel within them at any stage whatsoever. The role of the parents at keeping a check where the problems are creeping in from is of a vital nature. This is because the parents are the ultimate saviors for their kids, and they need to provide the backup at all times, notwithstanding any issues, no matter how big or small they are. The parents are in their zones to sneak in the kids’ bedrooms and find out what they are doing at odd hours of the day and night, and can also check who they are hanging out with on a regular basis. It is the company of the kids that usually spoils them more than anything else. If these kids spend nearly half the time with their friends who are unruly and of the violent kind, the affects on their personality levels are very demeaning and destructive in the most basic sense (Williams 1997). There could be serious issues in the wake of understanding such ideological aspects which the kids undergo whilst they are under the process of growing up. They are being fed with constant content which defies the ideology that has been taught by their parents and the teachers. Instead they are learning wholly new things which were never explored before by them and now the surprise element brings a sense of joy for them (Peters 2006). The parents therefore have a very important responsibility which they need to fulfill at all times and under all occasions. This would essentially tell them that they have a bond with their kids to make sure that they remain on track and do not stray from the set course of action. This sense of responsibility comes from a desire to see their kids making it big within the different fields like education, careers, sports and so on. Critically speaking, it is the right of the parents to keep a complete check on their young ones. This is because it would ask of the kids to remain on their feet and think twice before they commit their own selves into some form of a mischief in the future. It will also make them feel accountable for all their tasks, activities and actions. There would be a better check and balance mechanism which will be implemented once the parents decide for their own selves that their kids must not be given the leeway that can make them feel mischievous and nasty. The respect and dignity factor must stem from the onset so that any issues that are of dangerous proportions are kept under a strict check. All these elements are very fundamental towards gaining an understanding where the discussions are centered on the premise of bringing about a positive change within the relationships of parents and their kids (Knox 2000). One needs to be very critical of the relationships that exist between the parents and their kids because such attitudes are derived from a basic understanding that develops over a period of time. The behaviors and actions are dependent on the ways and means through which people are able to manifest their control and authority over their young ones and ask of them to respect them in the long run. Thus there is a dire need to command respect when it is needed most and even when it is of little significance in day to day affairs. However one must never forget the ideology that parents need to be given their rightful place always and there should be no missing links within such an understanding that is achieved over time. Conclusion: It would be very sound to state here that parents have a definitive role at molding the attitudes of the young ones in the time and age of today. It is also correct that the technologically-savvy kids of these times have understood that they can move ahead by deceiving and cheating their parents. This is an unfortunate aspect that has come to the fore and needs to be resolved at the earliest so that sanity can prevail within the relevant ranks. The linkage between the parents and the kids is also of immense significance because a positive relationship will always have good affects on the minds and hearts of both the parents as well as the young ones (Selle 2000). The societal manifestations of relationships that exist between the kids and their parents will portray the optimism that one can derive from the same regimes. There must be an effort on the part of the opinion leaders to set things in a corrective fashion and avoid altercation as the latter can mean absolute problem and anarchy within the related ranks. All said and done, it is important that both parents and kids understand their due roles and bring about a sense of responsibility at the earliest to foster a culture of empathy and understanding.
