Attending a is one of the most challenging tasks which one undertakes to complete so that a better future can carve out to live a better and more fulfilling life. However, to choose a university which suits your abilities and interest is something which one need to take care off before attending a university because this process of choosing the institution of higher education ultimately defines what you are going to become in your life.
Since joining University of Maryland Collage Park, I felt that I have probably made a decision which was not suiting me personally. The circumstances at that time were such that I had to decide to join University of Maryland Collage Park however as my studies progressed, I felt myself as socially alienated besides the fact that the environment was not intellectually stimulating and that my intended major i.e. International Relations, is not being offered at the University.
I was born in South Africa and in Israel besides completing my schooling in the area of Manhattan, New York. This multicultural background shaped my life in such a way that I feel restricted in any environment which addresses to a particular area and does not focus on the universality of values. Maryland, to me, is such a place which does not offer me an opportunity to grow as a person which I like to be. I therefore consider transferring to a university which offers many environments and opportunity to grow as a person besides achieving an academic distinction in my chosen field.
New York is a place where UNO is working besides boasting a strong impression of a city with diverse culture and values. Since my intended major is of International Relations therefore NYU being in New York city would provide me a great opportunity to connect me again to a more budding and robust cultural environment.
I suffered ADD from my early age, and though it is more common now but for me its impact was much more serious and debilitating with stronger influence over the way I think and perceive myself. I often feel that, due to ADD, I am not that smart and that others would ultimately take a lead from me however, I never felt hopeless and shown perseverance to prove myself as a smart and capable student. I proved most of the people wrong who advised me not to attend the high school because I won’t succeed.
In a nutshell, transfer to NYU would provide me opportunity to get back to an environment which suits my personality and would help me to further stimulate my abilities and creativity to be a part of a team which offer one of the best education in International Relations. It would not only improve my career prospects but would also provide me a challenge to excel into one of the best universities in the world which throw you intellectual challenges to face in order to make a positive and constructive contribution to the humanity as a whole. Self-discovery and change while attending the University of Bridgeport

Identifying with these domains can result to our senses being taken over by endless thoughts or floods of emotion, a suffering that most people know well. That is what I was going through upon realizing that I had cancer. In the spiritual world, the domain of consciousness or awareness arises. People become detached from the domains of thought, emotions, and body. It seems like 'nothing matters' because they think they do not exist. It is important to integrate the domain of awareness into one's life. The misconception I had was that I failed to realize that in order for me to integrate myself with the spiritual world, I must be fully aware of my present situation first. People believe they are being spiritual by holding themselv...

...?As soon as I walk into the club, I start feeling the warm, overpowering vibe of reggae, with its roots in African, Caribbean and African music. The people around me are blending into one colorful unity with the interior of the club, which is oozing a sort of a 60’s hippie joyfulness and ecstasy. People are moving in the rhythm of the music, a perfect blend of drums, providing a solid backbeat, guitar, being played with short, quick accents, and occasional horns and keyboards. The whole atmosphere is that of enjoyment and general happiness, and the vibrant rainbow colored walls, the bar, chairs and drinks flaming in glasses only emphasize it. Even the people’s clothes mirror their current state of mind: psychedelic t-shirts of all...

Values and Meaning of Attending College

...?A common interpretation of the purpose behind America’s colleges and universities draws upon the need of education for a vibrant democracy and society. Such a focus on community ignores the importance of pursuing a college education for individuals striving to achieve their own goals. Boyer addresses the parallelism between community and individuality in his piece “Two Essential Goals” by stressing the need for balance between the private and the public. However, in arguing for balance between two essential goals, Boyer seems to be arguing against one at the expense of the other. In contrast to an individualist purpose for attending college, Boyer believes the college has an obligation to teach “a more coherent view of knowledge...

Students Attending

This forms a need for research to determine the nature of factors that are intent on making this a challenge and a rising concern. It has been noted that since its inception in the United States, the government continually funded the HBCUs in a bid to raise the number of students from the black minority that are getting higher education. However, the dwindling financial aid to the low-income students and the increased competition from the predominantly white institutions is proving to be a challenge amongst these students.
Private colleges and universities did not build up a solid financial base and this has caught up with them at the moment since it is very difficult for them to raise money for institutional resources and th...

Why I Am Attending College

...Hitting a Homerun Throughout all of the stages of my life, I have felt that I have been a long baseball hitter involved in the important game of life, but could not hit a homerun. As I would step up to the base, I never knew what was going to be thrown to my head. I had many jobs in my twenties. They felt as if they were flying over my head just like those imaginary baseballs. I never found a job that I could stay at for more than a couple years. I grew bored and felt unchallenged, but that did not motivate me towards going to college. College was something that other young people attended but I felt I needed to work to live. Jealousy was my little dark black secret as I watched my friends have the financial support to attend...

He has seen the problem of plagiarism from a different angle in his “opinion” article in Chronicle of Higher Education, “Student Plagiarism as an Institutional and Social Issue”. He has raised the issue of “Research Assistance” provided by advertisers, “Thousand of papers in stock, available for any course”, pointing to the problem of not only graded students papers going out of the office for resurfacing in future but the immoral practice of taking outside sources help to complete the assignments, which, according to the writer, needs to be fixed.
