Teaching Methods Teaching Methods Unit Reflection Language is intended to impart knowledge to a learner so as to enable him acquire skills that may advance and assist him accomplish life choices and objectives. This indicates that learning is a tool that helps people to achieve and realize their dreams in their future life. As a process, it involves various stakeholders, who are expected to stand and play their roles actively and responsibly to manage favorable results. Education assists us to see what has not materialized and start a journey to go for it. We can not achieve what we have not seen and conceived in our dream world. The people around us in the society play a big role in making us realize who we are and the potential that we carry, and ignite fire to conquer all odds of life in our spirits, and become what we want to be in life. This indicates how environment contributes in learning a language. This creates some emptiness and the hunger that can only be fulfilled through self satisfaction of success. This can be achieved when learners have the ability to connect their reading with their real life situations. I agree that learning a language does not take place automatically, but it can only be achieved through careful planning and design. It is a process that starts from home and continues to school. Therefore, indicates that instructors should not depend on the aspect of telling learners that it is time to reflect for them to grow and embrace this skill, but proper strategies and purposeful aims should be set to guide learners on this process (Welch 1999.) When instructors are designing teaching approaches, they should be able to identify the intended purpose and be able to realize how they will be achieved even before they manifest and happen. Such approaches will promote a smooth transition from oral to printed languages. There is a laid down procedure to enable learners develop their own learning that may be independent from those of their instructor (*). Positive environments enhance social interaction among learners who are able to share their ideas that see them acquiring more information from each other. This encourages group teaching, which promotes confidence and talking among peers. When learners share ideas it enables them to develop a deeper thinking more than learning on individual levels. (*) This confidence helps learners to develop a mastery content of the language. Students who have a good command of a language have the ability to express their opinions and feelings correctly. I agree that reading brings experiences stimulated by the author to the reader. However, the learner should get the meaning of the words he is reading. Discussion of pictures during reading activities enables the learner to understand what he is going to read. . After several trials, the mind will eventually come up with remedies that can be applied to handle the issue, which means the mind has broadened through challenges. Learning has become dynamic, and it calls for instructors to search deeper than they were doing in the past. They should develop ways that are relevant to the current curriculum system, and which have a communicable language that the audience can understand. This is because language is the medium of instruction that instructors depend on to pass information. Unit 2 Reflection Reading programs give meaning to an individual basing on his motives and intentions, but these intentions do not come from an individual alone since the leaner acquires some values when one interacts with others through relationships. This indicates that metacognitive aspects enable learners to grow socially through their sharing of ideas in groups that enhances cooperation among them. Therefore, some programs emphasize the power to influence and propagate relationships among learners, the community and the nation at large. However, it is my opinion that teachers should assess the value of any reading program before applying it. This suggests that instructors should show how they plan to ensure that learning has been achieved. The content should be broken down into basic units that can easily be understood by learners. Integrated framework of literature and skills enables learners’ interest to be catered and taken into account to suit their various needs. Teacher can use Teaching resources and materials such as charts real objects, and tapes to enable a learner to have an insight eye in life events around him and be able to interpret and analyze them in the right manner. In addition, program design and instructional emphasis such as use of literary features for example story books, songs in a lesson enables learners to search deep in an issue using varied approaches that may stimulate further questioning to indicate their ability of reasoning. Songs can be used as an introductory to the lesson to catch the learner’s attention. Technology motivates adventure, making learners develop an interest in learning more. Secondly, through technology, a learner has a chance of acquiring multiple skills that will enhance learning. Objective learning is expected to show productive results. This indicates that an effective training should deliver significant outcomes, which encourage both the trainer and trainee. This process should not spend time resources without delivering all that it should provide. It is on this note that integrated learning plays a significant role in training to show the success of the process. More so it helps to assess the instructors’ methods and approaches of delivery. It also indicates if the objectives had been achieved. The instructor uses the outcomes of the audience performance to discover. A speaker can not keep on talking without realizing if the audience is part of the discussion or if they are left out. Learning involves active participation of the audience to suggest the achievement and effectiveness training. However, I indicate that evaluation has encountered various challenges that have hindered its progress in different disciplines. For example, Evaluation has lacked a suitable definition to be used by evaluators. It has advocated for a strict follow up certain methodology and approaches, which limit other options of innovation so to search deep in this process. Scholars are forced to use a similar format since they are not allowed to explore other ways, which would advance the training. This locks out research and other experimental approaches to expand evaluation hence a challenge to instructors. Unit 4 Reflection Learning takes place from the known to the unknown with learners being at the center of interest. Objectives guides the teacher to enable learners dominate the lesson. This calls for a level of evaluation which reflects if the audience caught the interests of the lesson. The response of the audience assists evaluation to describe the success of the training. The audience is able to speak and imitate the instructor, who was handling the training. Such a positive reaction shows the achievement of the process. Secondly, learning takes place where the instructor is able to measure the amount of knowledge. His audience has acquired. This enables the instructor to plan in the future on how to handle what his audience has not learnt and mastered (*). The third level indicates the extent the learners have changed in behavior in relation with the training which they acquired. This illustrates that training should have an impact on contact and character of a being. This reflects that when the audience does not change in their behaviors, then learning may not have taken place. Learning should not be identified to be a system where learners are taken to classrooms to be lectured and finally given examinations for assessment of the values acquired since it does not reflect the true picture of the learner. However, the learner should use the acquired knowledge and skill to be able to handle and solve other life problems that he may encounter. Teachers should plan for the lesson in advance and assemble the necessary materials, which may be used in the lesson. A prepared teacher will show confidence towards his learners. Systematic breakdown of content will enable students to follow up his delivery. Learning should be holistic in nature and not basically on academics because challenges that affect people might not all the time be class oriented, but the dynamic world has various hurdles that need complex values and skills to handle. According to my opinion, the teacher should identify a sitting arrangement that may enable learners see the speaker and other learners so as to create harmony in the lesson. Learners who can not see the instructor and their fellow students may feel out of the lesson. Writing on the board while talking, may affect such learners. This is because they depend on the visual expression to understand the information being passed. In addition, a teacher who may be facing on the board lacks class control since some learners may lack attention. Evaluation enables individuals to change their patterns and ways. Results become the valuable product of a learning process. It involves analyzing objectives, methods of delivery and the outcomes of learning. This helps instructors to assess the level of the learners. Unit 3 Reflection Literature plays a significant role in learning. The learner develops the ability to connect the story with the content of the lesson. This indicates that literary works enhance mastery of content. It also makes learning entertaining and informative. Children like stories and a teacher who integrates music and dance in his lesson attracts learners to the lesson. However, a proper frame work should be put in place to guide teachers on the credited literary materials. Some of these materials may not be suitable for a certain levels of learners. The language used in such story books should be within the learners reach. Relevant, meaning, and motivating stories deliver immediate results. I remember during my preschool level, when the teacher narrated the stories to us. I wo8ld go home and narrate the same story to my siblings during bedtime. Some of those stories have stuck in my memory to the present. This has enabled me to relate those stories with my preschool teacher. Moreover, it has helped me to comprehend what I was taught during those days of my childhood education. Lessons learnt from such stories have enabled me to apply in my today daily situations. Analysis involves an instructor collecting information concerning the learners, and identifying the topics and the content that should be covered. It is in this step that the instructors give a layout of the project’s objectives that need to be achieved. This enhances and gives meaning to the content since it makes learning relevant and achievable. Through education the learner has been able to give a summary of the details of the experiences of the event; one is expected to relate the meaning to the function. This calls of the interpretation of characters and items used to give relevance to the intended learning objectives. These objectives could be achieved if the learners are able to link up the meaning of the events with the assessable objectives (*). This is intended to motivate learners to be able to stimulate questions from the topic so as to discuss the experience to a deeper level that would be more than just assessing and testing the ability of learners. Listening, speaking, reading and writing are the foundational skills that equip learners with the ability of communication. This assists students to express themselves. One is able to translate the written information in to oral code through reading and understanding the meaning. Education assists us to see what has not materialized and start a journey towards it. Life involves hurdles and challenges that face us in our daily life, and to overcome and jump these hurdles, we need inspiration and aspiration to do so. Dreams of good life in the future encourage the young to work hard in academics so as to achieve them; those who are in business and family also have visions of prospering and making it to happen. This is achieved with proper strategy mechanisms that provide a route map for the journey of success.
