Extract of sample "Chinese education system"

There is something of a crisis in the Chinese education system. Chinese who have been overwhelmed by academic pressure received from a young age, have too few resources to help them make career decisions. I aspire to provide the resources for these young adults to successfully make the transition from school to society. First, I would like to help them find their true interest and passion. The truth is that career exploration should start as early as high school, since most students in China decide on their majors before they enter university. Students need more context to make an appropriate decision. I would like to invite volunteers from different industries to share their experience with high school and university students. I would also like to design internship programs for students to shadow? professionals in the industries they are interested in. The more information students have, the better a decision they can make. Another important factor largely missing in today's education in China is training in the soft skills. Soft skills are those that students need to continue to explore their career interests on their own and get on the right path. My organization can provide training on networking, information collection, and other essential skills to students. With these skills, students will make the most of their precious college years and become fast-tracked? to excellent careers. I am fortunate enough to have an undergraduate education from a top liberal arts college in the U.S., which provided me career exploration skills and allowed me to see the disadvantages of students at home. Through work and activities, I have collaborated with professionals from different industries, as well as with university students, further deepening my understanding of the challenges faced by students in China. I understand what must be done. Before I turn my vision into reality, I plan to continue to hone my business skills and increase my exposure by working in the consulting industry and through commitments like the Ai Community. A well-rounded business education at HBS is the best way to get me started. Its case method will allow me to learn the most from other students, which is a great way for me to obtain a better understanding of different industries and professions. The strong presence of the HBS alumni network in China will offer tremendous help in building connections. Business is often about who you know. The program's focus on leadership will further prepare me to successfully operate my organization. Few things are as important in business as leadership skills. -end- My concern: 1. is it clear why it's meaningful to me? Yes, this personal essay makes clear why the position is meaningful. It is well-written and clear. 2. do i need to talk about my short term goal more though this is about "vision"? Vision generally means “big picture.” What you have written here should be more than sufficient. 3. is my "why HBS" part compelling enough? The logic of your writing makes the HBS very compelling. It follows logically from the rest of the essay and is convincing. Read More

Diversity in Education

There is a form of cultural imperialism that exists within countries and that is, arguably, destructive of personality and helps create school failure where success is possible. Moroccan children in Belgium, Turkish children in Germany, Pakistani and West Indian children in Britain, Algerian children in France, African-American, Hmong, and Latino children in the United States are alienated from their own cultures in their schools and learn to feel marginal to the mainstreams of thought and behavior in many of the communities in which they live. This type of cultural imperialism exists throughout the world, not merely in highly industrialized countries. It affects how Basarwa children are taught in Botswana's Kalahari Desert, how m...

Budgetary Control and Costing System

Job costing and Process Costing are the two basic methods of costing. Job costing is suitable to industries, which manufacture or execute the work according to the specifications of the customers. Process costing is suitable to industries where production is continuous and the units produced are identical. All other methods are combinations, extensions or improvements of these basic methods.

1. JOB COSTING: It is also called specific order costing. It is adopted by industries where there is no standard product and each job or work order is different from the others. The job is done strictly according to the specifications given by the customers and usually, the job takes only a short time for completion. The purpose of...

Comparison of the Cold War International System to the Current International System

An example is that of the Korean War (1950-53) which is said to transform the nature of the Cold War, while its initial impact was to solidify the division of the world into political, military, and economic spheres. Take Germany for instance where imperialism was a victim challenged by the historians for the destruction of the German Government along with its supporters used to conduct (Keylor, 2001, p. 44). That indicates economic expansion and territorial acquisition has always been a problem promoted since the First World War. Even in the 1920s, it was fashionable to declare the German empire on the threshold of the ‘Great War’ (Keylor, 2001, p. 44).

Europe in the global context remained tense and divide...

Starbucks in Chinese Market

In the year 1996, the coffee giant marked its global presence. Up until 2004, the Chinese government prohibited Starbucks to operate its own stores in China. As a result, the coffee giant enters the Chinese market by joint-venturing with Chinese food and beverage companies and licensing other companies to own and operate its stores--differs from its domestic approach. But the company was able to easily overcome its initial obstacles and marked its presence in China very quickly and successfully with great brand recognition and customer satisfaction. The company also tailors its stores to match the local atmosphere. This is a transnational strategy. “For example, the Starbucks strategy in Shanghai is to attract middle to high...

Children and Young People's Reflections on an Education

The reforms have to be brought from the top side of a nation, whereby the government needs to take bold steps to promote it no matter how hard it is on their budgets. Similarly, child development is a very significant aspect in the times of today. There is immense importance which is given to this subject. (Nespor, 1997) The basis is backed up with sufficient data and research which goes a long in establishing the fact that child development indeed owes a lot of attributes on the part of the people who are related to the child – the parents and/or its guardians. The aspects of love and training at the same time holds true for their balance bringing up the regime and this without a shadow of a doubt is a significant thing to...

Microprocessor System and Application

In a computer, a processor commonly involves one or more microprocessors (also acknowledged as chips), which are silvers of silicon or other substance stamped with many little electronic circuits. To perform operations on data, the computer passes electricity all the way through circuits to execute an instruction (Norton 2001.p. 5). The innovation in technology has brought a lot of facilities for us. We have better ways of life and all the facilities regarding better production and domestic tasks. Such as in the industrial production we have automatic robots that are welding, packing, moving and carrying out several other development-related tasks. These robots are pre-programmed and microprocessors based chips are controlling all...

The Interprofessional Practice and the Health Care System

This is also the position Stone (2007) takes in the quote under discussion.
Furthermore, Stone goes on to declare that Australia has been very slow to implement this practice as compared with other countries and government agencies. One of the primary reasons is that the public policy system in Australia is quite complex and the decision-makers have not come into agreement on where to place it in the policy matrix. This leaves Interprofessional Practice and Education in the dark (or the cold) as far as strategic planning for implementation as well as placing itself within the funding cycles of the government disbursements. (Stone, 2007)
Policies are created in order to put in place how politicians and government official...

Mary Wollstonecraft on Education

Understanding that women are just as able as men in many capacities and some very important ways that she excels causes one to realize that no one should be able to take her rights away. It is the mother who gives protection for the initial nine months to the divine creative force of nature – regardless of whether the offspring is male or female. But what is prescribed in various secular and spiritual texts and what is practiced in society currently are contradictory. A female child is victimized during every step of her life, from the moment of birth, notwithstanding the fact that it is she who sacrifices at those stages. Women need to be the social, spiritual and legal equals of men. These were the arguments that Mary Woll...
