Business Decision Making A) Business Plan Executive Summary Objectives The Chinese based educational center will have the aim of inculcating the work ethics of Chinese education system on Libyan students. The system will involve long studying hours that prepares students to face the reality of the tough world that awaits them after school. Additionally, the studies will be based upon Chinese mode to prepare students for life in every way. Given the status of Libyan working conditions and living standards, it is imperative that there be an education facility that prepares them for the true life. Whereas the institution will provide enough facilities for the students for proper learning, it will prepare them psychologically for the cramped state of the job market. Furthermore, the facility will provide students with practical skills for living positively. It is essential that students learn about life skills and the best ways to cope in the society and adhere to expected norms. Thus, although the institution will not be biased to any religious setting, it will labor to provide the right guidance to students and inculcate in them the significance of ethics and values. In so doing, the institution is set to give the students a mindset that will enable them fit anywhere in the world. Mission The institution’s mission is to train, prepare and mould students of sound character, life skills and with the knowledge of the real world and ability to fit and work anywhere in the globe while providing the best professional services and products Keys to Success The keys to success of the institution will be to ensure it indoctrinates Chinese way of education in the Libyan students. Whereas there will be adherence to the legally recognized syllabus of the Libyan people, the institution will instill Chinese Education system ethics that are geared towards preparing learners for the real world (The China Expat, 2013). Students will have the opportunity to have a feeling of the job market and innovative sphere before they get out of school. In so doing, everyone leaves school a prepared individual, copes well in the environment and becomes more productive than they would otherwise be. Company Summary Company Ownership The institution is owned by a group of Libyan graduates from China. The group is accomplished in matters of education. For the past four years, they have been working as tutors within the country. It is high time they thought their expertise in tutoring and experience in matters of Chinese education could help uplift the education standards of the country. They, therefore, have established the institution to aid vulnerable and needy students from the Libyan society. Company Start-Up Plan As stated earlier, the company is a creation of some Libyan graduates with expanse background and expertise in Chinese education system. These graduates from Libya and China have the passion and are highly motivated to start a miniature plan of Chinese education values in the country. The company has so far just began and is in its initial stages of start-up. The institution has started with 20 students in high school. It intends to increase its premises with time an open its doors to more students. The institution is set up to provide help to students with needs, and may not have an escalated expansion in the event that it does not obtain funds for the purpose. Market Analysis and Summary The institution intends to gather student population from all over the country. It will endeavor to reach out to all communities in the country and admit the neediest students in these communities. Whereas the founders believe that it may be impractical to help all students from needy backgrounds, it will labor to reach as many needy students as possible and change their lives. In addition to going out to the community, the institution will go into children’s centers and orphanages that have educational facilities only for the primary category. It will admit students who have finished their primary schooling into the high school section, thereby keeping the students’ dreams alive. Strategy and Implementation Summary It is the institution’s strategy to give needy students in the societies it will reach out to the best possible preparation for life. The founders understand the disparities that have existed in service provision in the educational sector within the country that leaves children from poor backgrounds disadvantaged and less prepared for life. The founders have the dream to give the needy students the best preparedness by instilling the values and core virtues of Chinese educational system into these vulnerable members of the society. The school will admit students in their high school studies. The target is to equip the students with virtues to help them be more prepared to deal with life problems and give them better chances of surviving in a society that practically alienates them. Founders of the institution believe that the Chinese education system is a little integrated than the Libyan system. Given the cultural differences between the two states, there is a lot to be learnt from Chinese education system focused institution by the Libyan students. The harmonious amalgam of the Western school of thought and Confucian tradition and the contemporary political agenda makes the system a model to be emulated by other education systems. The system is coupled with parental demands of success, fierce competition from other students and academic demands to perform. It combines well with societal expectations and lifestyles of the country’s population to ensure proper preparedness for life (The China Expat, 2013). This s the strategy that the institution’s founders aspire to inculcate in the needy students to give them a step ahead of their better placed counterparts Management Summary Management of the institution will be under the founders. The founders are vastly learned individuals with profound knowledge in management and tutoring. As a start-up effort, the institution will have all its management duties under one of its founders as the director. Given the passion and inspiration the founders have to see this project a success, there will be a high level of integrity and vigilance in making the project a success. There will be the other founder in charge of academics of the institution. His designation will be the head teacher. Further, the other founder will be a deputy director to report to the director. His duty will be to oversee the running of the school. In addition, there will be support staff and teaching staff. The teaching staff will report directly to the headmaster and other staff members such as school accountant and school secretary reporting to the director and the deputy director. The lean management structure of the institution is specifically so given the limited funds and operations the institution has in its initial days. With increased sources of funds and necessities due to increased operations, the institution will expand its management structure and employ experts in all its fields of management. Financial Plan Given the nature of the institution as a care and educational center for needy students, the founders do not plan to charge the learners any fees. For this reason, there are emphases on obtaining funds from sponsors and well wishers. The institution is a charitable institution whose creation is provoked by the need to help the needy. It does not stand a chance of benefiting financially from the learners, society or the government. However, the institution needs finances to run and sustain the students therein. It, therefore, depends and will continue depending on grants from the government and sponsorship from well wishers to run the operations of the school. In the initial set-up of the premises, the founders were compelled by the passion and desire to see their dreams come to pass and contributed their personal funds to acquire the premises. The institution will not require as much financial need as other regular schools given that it will depend on volunteer teachers and the founders’ guidance to inculcate the requisite Chinese culture and values. The directors and other members of staff will get allowances of appreciation from the pool of funds that will be gathered from sponsors. B) Data Collection Methods For the institution to be built on sound, evidence-based information, it is crucial for a proper research to be conducted on the feasibility of the project. It is necessary that the founders have the real picture of the feasibility of sponsorship and acceptance of their initiatives by the community in Tripoli. Whereas they may have a noble thought for the community, it is imperative that they know the reality about the probability of succeeding. Given the complexity of the project the Libya-China graduates plan to offer, it would be advisable to use more than one information collecting technique for the best results. Data gathering will be done on a number of populations. Foremost, the project has to collect information from targeted students. Secondly, it needs to have information from target organizations for sponsorship requests. In addition, the project needs first-hand information from the public on the viability and acceptability of their efforts. The most effective way of collecting information from students and sponsors would be questionnaires. It would require the use of open ended as well as close ended questions for the best response and data gathering. For the general public, the institution can use face to face interviews to collect the views of the public on the proposed project. C) Questionnaire The right questionnaire for gathering information for opening an office in Tripoli would consider a few things. Foremost, the questionnaire needs to address all the needed questions in the establishment of the office in Tripoli as comprehensively as possible. Secondly, there is the need to give the respondent opportunity to give any additional information that could be useful. The questionnaire needs not be too long as this may make respondents bored and give incorrect responses. To cover these needs, there is need to have open ended and close ended questions. Some of the questions in the questionnaire could be: 1. Do you think the current education system addresses your needs for preparedness for life? 2. Do you like the Libyan education system? 3. Would you support an education institution that inculcates other cultures into the Libyan education system? 4. Would you donate to a charity organization with a Chinese twist to Libyan education? 5. What is your take on Chinese education? Works Cited The China Expat. The Advantages of China’s Education System & The Implications for You. 21 June 2013. 16 Dec 2013 . Read More
