The magazine managed to instill confidence in ordinary people by showing them that they can be models in their different original ways. Over time, the magazine, incorporated different celebrities hence increasing its sales tremendously (American society of magazine editors, 2006). The innovative nature and the continuous re-invention of the magazine, have managed to sustain it for over thirty years. People always get thrilled every time they grab a new copy.

The magazine addresses a large number of people in society, ranging from fashion designers to people in the music industry and filming industries. It provides its audience with explicit information on development taking place in their different areas of interest, a factor that leads to an increased level of creativity among the readers. For instance, the fashion industry has developed over time, a situation that has been orchestrated by the vast knowledge people in the industry are getting from the magazine. This plays a great role in the generation of ideas among these people.

The logo of the magazine, composed of a smile and a wink, has become part of the magazine. It has been used on the cover page of several copies of the magazine. It gained popularity among the editors of the magazine after a great number of the world’s elite in the fashion industry gave it a cheeky wink each time they got their copies. The logo was introduced during the magazine's 25th anniversary in the year 2005 (Kotler et al, 2006).

The magazine has led to an enhanced level of social awareness of the developments in fashion, music, and culture which includes art, film, and photography. All these sections are incorporated into the magazine, giving people insights into the developments in each sector. It acts as a source of information to the fanatics of each area by providing them with up-to-date information and at the same time ensuring that they give an overview of each product. The diversity of the magazine has further led to an increased number of people thrilled by its stories. Furthermore, the magazine has managed to mold and develop self-esteem among its readers by introducing the straight-up part of the magazine. It endeavors to reassure the readers that they can be models in different ways (I-d magazine of internal design, 1984). They end up appreciating their taste and fashion in life

It is a piece that touches on the entire lifestyle of the youth, which is important to both the youths and parents. Thus, it provides a single platform under which one can figure out developments in various sectors of society (Kuth & Ranieri, 2010).
